The English film "Kill Bill"
abstract
The bride (uma thurman) was a member of the deadly viper assassination organization (D.I.V.A.S), trying to get out of a bloody life through marriage. But the arrival of her former colleagues (played by Hannah, Liu Yuling, Vivica A. Fox and michael madsen) and everyone's boss Bill (played by david carradine) ruined all this. "Bill," pleaded the bride, "I'm pregnant and it's your child." But the answer is "bang" a gunshot! Four years later, when she woke up in the hospital, she immediately embarked on a revenge journey from Texas to Okinawa, Tokyo and Mexico. She wants to kill for a goal. "When I reach my destination, I will kill Bill."

Quentin tarantino will use Kill Bill to pay tribute to his favorite genre films, including Italian westerns, China Kung Fu films, Japanese samurai films and cartoons. In Kill Bill, Talentino not only makes each chapter present a different style, but also visualizes the signs of these films in many details. Spaghetti westerns are the product of crossing with American westerns. In the forties and fifties of last century, Italians were very keen on American westerns, but in the sixties, American westerns faded out of the Italian market due to market and distribution factors, so Italians decided to make their own westerns. Compared with American westerns, the characters in Italian westerns are rougher, have no heroic sense of justice, and are more in pursuit of money and other instinctive desires. However, Italian westerns are also humorous, not only in words but also in actions, regardless of life and death. Sergio Leon is the first representative, and his Money Trilogy (fistful of dollars, Twilight Escort, Lone Ranger Dueling Hell Gate) and the past events in the west are classics, which deeply influenced Talentino. In Kill Bill I, although there are not many classic Italian-western scenes, at least a lot of "cliches" are borrowed from the lines, which adds a lot of cool feeling to the character. Talentino was a big fan of Hong Kong Kung Fu movies in 1960s and 1970s. He especially likes the films directed by Zhang Che, a subsidiary of Shaw. The martial arts of hard bridge and hard horse combined with the tragic scene of blood spattering on the spot are in line with Talentino's violent style. Although the performance of Hong Kong Kung Fu in the first volume is not sufficient due to the different division of labor between the two films, the audience can at least see Talentino's respect for Kung Fu superstar Bruce Lee from uma thurman's black and yellow costume. In fact, in the interview, Talentino once admitted bluntly that the costume design is a replica of Bruce Lee's image in The Game of Death, but with leather. The "Black Super Mask" of "Crazy 88" is also related to the modeling of the Green Hornet. Not to mention casting, Talentino wanted to cooperate with Liu Jiahui from the moment he saw the Shaw Kung Fu classic "Thirty-six Rooms in Shaolin" in the 1970s, and now he finally got it. Bill's actor david carradine is also Talentino's kung fu idol in the United States. Carradine is equally famous in the United States and Chuck Norris (a disciple of Bruce Lee, a six-time world karate champion and the first black belt in Taekwondo in the western world). His TV movies and TV series Kung Fu swept the United States in the 1970s, and he even wrote a book, Shaolin Spirit, to explore the philosophy of Kung Fu. Talentino is even more obsessed with samurai movies than Hong Kong Kung Fu movies, but when it comes to samurai movies, it's hard to hear such a master as Akira Kurosawa from an early age, because he is interested in bloody movies that purely show Tatsu Yamashiro's achievements. In this way, Sonny Chiba, an actor who is not a big name, has been highly praised by Talentino for his perennial struggle in the front line of Japanese samurai films. Talentino invited Sonny Chiba to come, even refused to let the old man kiss the automatic knife, but appeared as the god of kendo. Even his name in the movie comes from Sonny Chiba's TV series Hattori Hands: Cagno Gundan. The kendo and saber skills of Japanese samurai, just like Japanese character, are the unity of elegance and cruelty. In the film, Talentino not only worships the beauty of the mountain city, but also shows the bloodthirsty nature of the mountain city with intuitive violent shots. Finally, combined with multiple elements, Talentino not only presented a gorgeous and charming genre feast, but also highlighted a rebellious spirit. Actually, the idea of shooting Kill Bill originated from Talentino's childhood in the South Bay area. There are many local secondary cinemas called "Grinding House". The Mill is not a high-end place, which specially shows B-class films with small investment, short cycle and simple plot, and the Kung Fu films among them have left a deep imprint on Talentino's mind. He recalled: "In the early 1970s, when I was a child, Kung Fu movies were all the rage. In these cinemas, all kung fu movies have been shown for about two years. Even when the enthusiasm for kung fu movies fades, they can still be found in the Nanwan area from the late 1970s to the early 1980s. I think this is one of the greatest film types. " In addition, on TV, Talentino saw Bruce Lee's The Green Hornet. Later, in the ABC TV series Kung Fu, david carradine, who plays the master of Kung Fu, opened his eyes. A few years later, Talentino became keen on Asian action movies, and showed a preference for the Shadow Warrior starring Sonny Chiba broadcast by Japanese TV. By the mid-1980s, a new wave of Hong Kong action movies began to appear. At that time, Talentino had become a clerk in a video store in Manhattan Beach. Of course, he loved these movies very much. Talentino himself admitted that Sonny Chiba's violent works influenced his later script "Fatal Romance", while the Hong Kong action film "Dragon and Tiger Storm" inspired Reservoir Dogs in 1992. He said: "I have said many times that my film takes place in two completely different worlds. One is the Quentin world in the style of Pulp Fiction and Dangerous Liaison, and the other is the movie world. " "Kill Bill" is the first film I shot that took place in the "movie world". The story of this film doesn't take place in the world we live in. Women are no longer weak. They can kill and be killed like men. "In fact, at first, Talentino didn't want to divide Kill Bill into two parts. Later, Harvey Weinstein proposed to divide it into two films. Talentino thought the idea was so interesting that he figured out what to do in less than an hour. In the summer of 2003, Talentino showed Waenstam the first part of the cut sample, and the latter unequivocally commented that the ending was wonderful and should be two. However, although they belong to the same family, both films have their own tone and narrative strategies. The first focuses on Japanese culture, and the second focuses on China culture.

Quentin tarantino postponed the shooting date because uma thurman was pregnant. The screenplay and the role "Bride" are 30th birthday gifts from director quentin tarantino to uma thurman. Uma thurman's yellow dress in the movie is obviously to commemorate what Bruce Lee wore in the movie Game of Death 1978. In fact, many props in this movie are in honor of Bruce Lee. Most of the Asian scenes of the film were completed in the studio of Beijing Film Studio, including a large number of Japanese interiors. Christopher alan Nelson, a special effects artist, said that 450 gallons of fake blood were used to make two films, Kill Bill. The word "fuck" only appears 17 times in the film. This is quentin tarantino's first film, in which "Fuck" appears less than 100 times. Quentin tarantino said in an interview that all the music in this movie belongs to other movies, and they come from the soundtrack he collected. Okinawa is considered as one of the most unlikely places to eat delicious sushi, so the sushi restaurant there is also a good hiding place. In a restaurant scene, the "bride" killed 57 people. About $60,000 in the movie budget is used to make swords and their accessories. It took 1 year to write and adjust the script. Whenever Talentino is confused, he stops to watch Kung Fu movies, usually one Hong Kong movie a day, sometimes two or three movies a day, as well as Japanese samurai movies and cartoons. The images of these movies filled Talentino's mind so much that he knew nothing about Hollywood movies at that time. The producer wanted Warren Beatty to play Bill, but Warren Beatty refused the invitation and recommended david carradine to play it. In order to make this film feel like a China martial arts film in the 1970s, quentin tarantino gave a list of films to photography director robert richardson, hoping that he could master this visual style as soon as possible. In addition, Talentino also banned the use of digital special effects and firecrackers, and insisted on using China condoms filled with fake blood to create the effect of blood spatter, which was once a common method in Zhang Che. Kevin costner refused to play Bill in Infinite Earth because he wanted to direct and play the film himself. The famous long shot in this film was rehearsed for 6 hours. After the shooting in one go, it was rumored that the staff who operated the camera stabilizer fainted because of fatigue. This film is the first film rated as R after the implementation of the new film classification system in Canada. During the filming, Chiaki Kuriyama accidentally bumped into Talentino standing next to the camera. In order to let robert richardson be the photography director of this film, Talentino sent the script and a bunch of roses to Richardson's home on Valentine's Day in 2002. Talentino originally hoped that a Japanese actor would play Akihito in the film. Later, after watching "Wei Long in the Western Regions", he decided to invite Liu Yuling to play with him. Talentino and uma thurman started making the film during the filming of Pulp Fiction. They talked about the type of film they want to make most. Talentino said that they wanted to make a 70' s style kung fu film most, while Thurman proposed the title of wearing a wedding dress. According to uma thurman, Talentino once showed her two bloody men, coffee and a handful of dollars. The first draft of the script is 220 pages long. When the bride arrived at the Tokyo airport, she walked past the advertisement for red apple cigarettes, a brand created by Talentino and once appeared in Pulp Fiction.

O-Renishii: Silly Caucasian girls like to play Tatsu Yamashiro. Stupid Caucasian girls like to play with mountain cities. Look at me, Matsumoto ... Look at my face. Look me in the eye. Look at my mouth. Do I look familiar? Do I look like someone ... you murdered? Lian: Look at me, Matsumoto ... Take a good look at my face, my eyes and my mouth. Do I look familiar? Geographical error: The wedding should have been held in El Paso, Texas, but a prayer tree can be seen outside the church (Joshua). The prayer tree can only be seen in California's Mojave Desert and Arizona. Display error: When Hattori Shimada Hanzo was about to write the name "Bill" on the window glass with his finger, he could see that someone had already written the name and erased it. Display error: When Liu Yuling cut off the head of a gangster, the hand holding a knife was obviously different in the two scenes where she said the first line. Display error: Before the bride asked Sophe in the trunk, she crossed out O-Ren's name. O-Ren's name is written in black ink. Later, when the bride was on the plane, her name was written in red ink. Miscellaneous: When Gogo hit the bride's chest with a fetter ball, the bride's mouth was covered with blood. In the next scene, she has white teeth. Plot loophole: the heroine actually took the mountain city on the plane openly. Is security really so weak? (Note: This is not a plot loophole. In Quentin's film world, it is a world different from reality. In Quentin's movies, knives can be taken by means of transportation. On the last plane of the film, besides the bride's knife, there is another knife on the plane, and there is a special thing on the plane that allows passengers to hold their precious knives. When the bride left the hospital, she climbed into the car in a wheelchair. However, when the bride came out of the carriage again after 13 hours, the wheelchair was gone. When the heroine was talking to Hattori Shimada Hanzo in his shop, Hattori Shimada Hanzo cut the sushi with a knife and threw it on the knife rest. After that, the knife was tilted at 45 degrees, but the lens changed and the knife became 90 degrees vertical. In the fighting scene, Vernita Green and the bride glared when the school bus stopped. Vertina has a knife in her hand, parallel to her index finger. But as soon as the camera changed, her posture with the knife was reversed. After changing the lens, her hand appeared on the top of the knife again. When talking to the bride Nicky, there was no blood on her right chest, but when they were talking in the kitchen, blood suddenly appeared on her chest. After the bride and Vernita had a knife fight, they chatted in the kitchen. The sweater worn by the bride has changed. At first, the shirt covered only a small part of the neckline of the sweater, then the shirt covered a large part of the chest, and finally the shirt covered a lot less.
