Little yellow duck arrangement and diamond arrangement

The arrangement of the little yellow duck looks more like a duck with green eyes and a big mouth, and the equivalent pixel per inch of the diamond-like arrangement can reach about 80% of the standard RGB arrangement.

The arrangement of similar diamonds works well, but other arrangements do not. Because the content presented on the screen is aggregated by a large number of pixels, and the pixels are arranged in a square matrix, which is a square stacked vertically and horizontally. Therefore, when the screen hardware arranges sub-pixels, besides the number, it must also consider this grid logic.

Little yellow ducks are arranged, and the vertical pixels are in a state of occlusion. Any column is a wavy line instead of a straight line. The horizontal direction looks like a straight line, but because of the existence of green pixels side by side, the pixels that look like the same row are actually two rows, so both rows and columns are clear, and they are in the state of sawtooth occlusion, which leads to the reduction of the contrast of the graphics edges, the perception becomes mushy, and even the tiny edges stick together.

Different arrangement points

Different colors of the OLED screen have different pixel lifetimes, so in order to prolong the overall use effect of the screen, we have to change the pixel arrangement, so there are different arrangements such as diamond arrangement and little yellow duck arrangement. As for Delta arrangement, it is called Little Yellow Duck Arrangement and Zhou Dongyu Arrangement precisely because the pixels are arranged like Little Yellow Duck.

Although the diamond arrangement looks like an inclined arrangement, each row and column of pixels are on the same horizontal or vertical straight line, so the diamond arrangement has the ability to make the rows and columns clearly inclined when displaying graphics. The typical triangular arrangement used in the first generation of Tianma Palace is similar to the little yellow duck in longitudinal direction, with obvious occlusion and good lateral direction, so the longitudinal edge is weak.
