The Scenery of Studying in France——Four Bridges
Marie Bridge
Marie Bridge was built in the early 17th century in the era of Louis XIII. The name of the bridge comes from the architect Marie who built the bridge. He carved holes into each bridge pier. South of the bridge is the Ile Saint-Louis. The houses on the island look as old as the bridge. The buildings have tilted. The walls of the studio of Camille Claudet, a female disciple of the famous sculptor Rodin, have fallen off, and cracks can be vaguely seen. .
Kings Bridge
Kings Bridge was built in the era of Louis XIV. In the late 17th century, Louis XIV spent his own money to build this bridge, which later became a place for Parisians to hold celebrations. Historically, the wedding celebration of Princess Elizabeth of France and Prince Philip of Spain was centered on this bridge, which attracted 500,000 people to watch. On its south bank is the building where the thinker Voltaire worked. He died in this small building on May 30, 1778. Next to it is the place where writer Anatole France wrote for 10 years.
Xinqiao
Xinqiao is the most famous bridge. It is called Xinqiao and is actually the oldest. The foundation stone was laid by Henry III in 1578. The project was interrupted due to the civil war. By 1606, it was completed in the era of Henry IV. This bridge is 238 meters long and 20 meters wide, making it the longest bridge on the Seine River in Paris. The bridge has 12 arches, and on each arch is the head of an unknown warrior. Some have their eyes wide open with anger, and some have their eyes closed in meditation. The new bridge spans the ?le de la Cité, and the island under the bridge stretches out into the Seine like a sharp knife, splitting the river in two. For two centuries after its completion, the Pont Neuf has been the commercial center of Paris. The bridge is bustling with booksellers, self-written and performing artists, mobile vendors, and even tooth extractors. To this day, New Bridge still inspires artists. Walking across the bridge, you can see semicircular stone chairs on the sidewalks on both sides of the bridge. The uneven surfaces of the chairs record the vicissitudes of time. The oldest bridge in Paris is called the Pont Neuf and has a history of nearly 400 years.
The Seine River Art Bridge
Not far from the New Bridge, it is a metal-based Art Bridge built specifically for pedestrians. There are flowers and trees planted on the bridge, and the works of artist Francis Gazo are erected on the bridge railings. It is known as the Garden on the Seine. Standing on the Pont des Arts, you can see the Louvre to the north of the bridge, the French Institute to the south, the Grand Court to the east of the bridge, where Queen Louis XVI was once imprisoned, and the King's Bridge to the west of the bridge. The view is broad and the water and sky are the same color. Photographers or painters often look for inspiration on the pedestrian bridge, and there are also many artists whose works are exhibited on the bridge. It can be said that "the bridge lives up to its name".
In May 2010, the Paris city government decided that in order to protect the Art Bridge across the Seine River, it would remove all kinds of padlocks hung on the bridge by tourists from all over the world. Paris, France is known as the romantic city. Many couples who have visited here hang padlocks with their names engraved on the Pont des Arts to express their lasting love for their lovers. Therefore, the Paris city government's decision to remove the locks also caused dissatisfaction among some lovers.
