Indoor shooting clothes, there are photographic lights, why is it still black?

Hello:

Maybe you used IXUS75 to shoot clothes or other items before. It's ok and it's not ideal this time? If so, the reason lies in the improper selection of metering method and background when you shoot.

The exposure modes of 1 and Canon IXUS75 are fully automatic, and there is no manual exposure mode selection. It can only be solved by changing other parameter settings. IXUS75 photometry has three modes: evaluation photometry, center average photometry and spot photometry. You can choose to evaluate photometry. If the clothes you shoot are light, it's not a big problem, but if they are dark or even black, the camera metering will be exposed at a lower exposure value, so that the background will not be overexposed and the clothes will not be underexposed.

2. Solution: You can use the central key average photometry and spot photometry to take a few photos each, and change the proportion of clothes and lighting angle in the picture. If the effect is not ideal (for example, the background is seriously overexposed), you can change the white background into other suitable bright backgrounds and shoot again. When approaching the ideal situation, the exposure compensation can also be changed appropriately (increasing or decreasing in steps with the value of 1/3EV). As long as the method is proper, you will get the ideal effect and gain some experience.
