The film was inspired by Ruo Ban's fear of mirrors after watching the American version of Ghost Mirror, so he planned to write a horror story about mirrors. Ruo Ban has been a science fiction fan since he was a child. He always wanted to make a science fiction film, but it was difficult to shoot, so he temporarily postponed the shooting of science fiction films.

Ruo Ban shot the film at his own expense, and it cost 80,000 yuan from the early preparation to the shooting and the later stage.

Ruo Ban, the director of this film, is making a film for the first time. He has never been exposed to or learned to make movies before.

The film was shot for four and a half days, and most of the scenes were shot at the director's friend's house.

When shooting, director Ruo Ban also worked as a photographer, lighting engineer and sometimes as a driver. Actors have to buy them food when they have no food. Besides being directors, they also do some nanny work. After filming, they also spent an hour backing up the film material, which was also very intensive in the later stage, and participated in editing and soundtrack work.

Most of the actors in the film are third-year students of Fudan Visual Performance Department, and the third-year students of Shanghai Normal University play Ya Ting.
