Since Bai can become a human being, why should he feed the grass when studying the classics?

Besides, the other four apprentices are usually vegetarian, and their food is not much better than Bai's, so maybe Bai would rather eat grass, saving time and trouble.

Secondly, we should consider the reason why white becomes white. Bai was originally the son of the Dragon King, but was exiled to the mortal world because of his own mistakes. Later, after eating Tang Sanzang's white horse, Guanyin Bodhisattva punished him for turning into a white horse and carrying Buddhist scriptures behind Tang Sanzang's back. It should be noted here that Bai is not like the Monkey King, Pig and Friar Sand. Bai was punished. If he hadn't eaten Tang Sanzang's white horse, he wouldn't have turned into a white dragon and carried Tang Sanzang to the west. This is a punishment that he has to accept. Since you have become a white horse, you must accept the habit of eating grass, otherwise it will not be called punishment.

The third reason is that the original design is like this. The whole learning team has its own duties, and everyone has his position and personality. As a master, Tang Sanzang's task is to educate people and strengthen his determination to learn from the West. The Monkey King, as a master elder brother, has a high skill. His task is to be Tang Sanzang's personal bodyguard and make every effort to ensure Tang Sanzang's personal safety. Pig Bajie's task is to lead Bai and assist the Monkey King in exorcism. The sand monk's task is to carry a load and help the Monkey King exorcise demons. If there is one more white in the human figure, there will be two people with nothing to do, and if Bai usually carries Tang Sanzang in the form of a horse and becomes a human figure when eating, it would be embarrassing.
