Guangzhou is a very meaningful city. As an old guy who has lived in Guangzhou for more than 20 years, I want to share some places that attract me to Guangzhou with friends who may come to Guangzhou to play.

Guangzhou is a city with mountains both inside and outside. Although these mountains are not famous in the world, they are places where nature can be found at any time in daily life. There is Yuexiu Mountain in the city. This hill can almost tell the history of Guangzhou for more than two thousand years. With the expansion of the city, Baiyun Mountain, which was originally outside the city, was also surrounded by the city. In Baiyun Mountain, there are places as lively as Peak Park, as well as Xanadus like Dishuiyan and Shuangxi. There are more mountains outside the city. Dafu Mountain and Maofeng Mountain are both good places to go.

Guangzhou is a watery place. The Pearl River Delta is probably a special delta in China. The Pearl River system flows into Guangzhou from the west, north and east, and is divided into many waterways to enter the sea. There are many rivers in the city and the sea outside the city. When visiting Shamian, cheung chau island, Zhou Xiao Village, Shenjing Village and South Village of University Town, these rivers are also beautiful scenery.

Guangzhou is an ancient city with many cultural relics. The oldest is the unearthed cultural relics of South Vietnam. There were Islamic lighthouses in the Middle Ages, Nanhai Temple, Guangxiao Temple and Liu Rong Temple in Buddhism, and many Christian churches in modern times, such as Shishi Catholic Church. In the late Qing Dynasty, ten thousand mu of thatched cottage and Kangliang went to the world from here, which was also the base camp of Sun Yat-sen's revolution. The tomb of the seventy-two martyrs in Huanghuagang is solemn, the former site of Huangpu Military Academy, Guangzhou Martyrs Cemetery, the famous 19th Route Army and New China.

Guangzhou has preserved many old towns and ancient villages, where you can see more authentic Lingnan culture. The most famous buildings in the old city are Xiguan and Dongshankou in Yuexiu District. The building in Xiguan is xiguan big house with distinctive Lingnan characteristics, while the building in Dongshankou is dominated by western-style villas, both of which are full of literary flavor. Zhou Xiao Village, a famous ancient village, is a school of Lingnan water town scenery, and so is Shenjing Village. Huangpu Ancient Village is the seat of Guangzhou Port, which was once world-renowned. Nowadays, the scenery of the port is no longer there, but the status of the ancient village in Lingnan water town has become a bustling tourist attraction. On the other side of Panyu, there is a well-preserved Shawan ancient town.

Shamian Island in Guangzhou is the concession of Guangzhou in the past, but it can also be regarded as the category of the old city. Although the concession area there is not comparable to that of Shanghai, Wuhan, Tianjin and Qingdao, it is the epitome of Guangzhou as the most important port in China for thousands of years.

There is also a very popular tourist attraction in Guangzhou, Panyu Xiangjiang Wildlife World, which is really a good place to learn about the animal world and play.

Guangzhou is also a city with many bookstores and creative parks. There are 1200 bookstores that are open 24 hours a day. Learning to be excellent is the best bookstore, Xiaogutang Bookstore, Sisyph Bookstore, Fu Guang Bookstore, Downing Bookstore, once Borges Bookstore, and perhaps Guangzhou Bookstore Center, all of which make people linger.
