The Film and Television College of Sichuan Normal University was originally one of the departments under Sichuan Normal University.

In May, 20 14, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was officially renamed Sichuan Film and Television College on the basis of the original Sichuan Normal University Film and Television College.
