The major of School of Journalism and Communication is very practical, and the teaching emphasizes the close combination of theory and practice, aiming at cultivating qualified senior applied talents with one specialty and many functions. The practice bases built by the institute include: modern television laboratory, photography laboratory, secretarial practice training room, photography darkroom, recording studio, studio, news editing multimedia laboratory and so on. At the same time, it also cooperated with educational TV station, Pudong Radio and Television Station, Pudong Times, Morning News, Xinmin Evening News (community edition), Jiangu Culture Communication Co., Ltd. and other related media, enterprises and institutions to establish a stable off-campus practice base, which not only promoted the realization of talent training goals, but also created favorable conditions for students' employment.

The employment situation of graduates of various majors in this college is good, and the employment rate of previous graduates is above 97%. Graduate employment units are also widely distributed in industries, including various media companies, Chinese and foreign enterprises and institutions. Most graduates can find jobs at zero distance and are generally welcomed by employers.

The School of Journalism and Communication of Jianqiao University was established on the basis of the original Department of Cultural Communication after the school system reform. The former Ministry of Cultural Communication was established in 2006. Before the reform, there were three undergraduate majors and two majors in journalism (undergraduate), advertising (undergraduate), communication (undergraduate), TV program production and secretarial major (foreign affairs and legal direction), with more than 900 full-time students. There are 34 full-time faculty members, including 4 postdoctoral and doctoral students, 9 professors and associate professors, and 2 graduate students/kloc-0. In 2008, a large number of teaching and scientific research achievements were published, including 5 monographs, teaching materials and 34 professional papers. MTV and "Student DIY" TV special programs filmed and produced by teachers and students of our department have been broadcast many times in municipal TV station, municipal education TV station and Nanhui TV station. With the support of Shanghai Education Commission's private education highland construction project, the second phase equipment investment was nearly 2 million yuan, and modern TV program production equipment including broadcast digital camera, nonlinear editing machine, 8-meter camera rocker arm and camera pulley car was purchased, which improved and improved the original experimental training conditions. In order to cooperate with professional teaching, we have established training bases such as TV studio, nonlinear editing room, photography and lighting training room, darkroom, audio production room and secretarial practice training room for simulating company scenes, and established long-term cooperative relations with Shanghai news, radio, television and other media units. Students will receive professional certificates such as Film and Television Photographer (Quasi-advanced) Certificate, Intermediate Photographer Professional Qualification Certificate, Secretary Professional Qualification Certificate and Intermediate English Interpreter Qualification Certificate, and the employment rate of graduates over the years has reached over 97%.
