In 1997, "The Divine Smoothness of Heaven and Earth" won the Excellence Award in the 1997 Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Competition hosted by the Ministry of Culture to welcome the return of Hong Kong. In 1999, "High Mountains and Long Rivers" won the Bronze Award in the Chinese Painting and Photography Exhibition co-sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, China Artists Association, CCTV, and Xinhua News Agency to welcome the return of Macao in 1999. In 1999, "Clouds Rising from the Clouds" won the silver medal in the third China-Korea calligraphy and painting exchange exhibition. In 2000, "Flowing Clouds and Flowing Water" won the bronze medal in the Golden Monkey Cup Oriental Painting and Calligraphy Art Exhibition jointly sponsored by the China Artists Association and the China Golden Monkey Group. In 2000, "Mountains Stand Up" won the nomination award in the second China Art Golden Color Award sponsored by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the China Artists Association. In 2001, "Autumn Mountains Containing Smoke" was selected into the 200 National Contemporary Chinese Landscape Painting Awards. In 2001, "Rain in the Mountains and Streams" was selected into the 14th China, Japan, and Korea Famous Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition and won the silver medal. In 2001, "Lin Quan Zhi Zhi" was selected for the 21st Century Chinese Painting Australia Exhibition sponsored by the China Artists Association.

In 2001, "Taihang Mountain" was selected into the "Provincial Painting and Calligraphy Art Works Exhibition to Commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Founding of the Party" hosted by the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture, and won the special prize.

In 2002, "Looking at the Present" was selected into the National Art Exhibition "Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of Comrade Mao Zedong's "Speech at the Yan'an Forum on Literature and Art"".

On April 2, 2005, China Shuibo Painting Academy hired Li Ronghai and Gao Yongqian as honorary presidents.
