Photographic Notes 2—— Briefly describe the relationship between perspective and focal length

Relationship between perspective and focal length:

Wide-angle lens can make the picture deeper, and telephoto lens can make the picture flatter. Does the focal length determine the viewing angle?

Actually, it is not!

There is no absolute relationship between perspective and focal length. Because wide-angle shooting is generally close, the nearby objects are magnified, and telephoto shooting is generally long-distance, so the distance in the distance is reduced.

So if you shoot something far away with a wide angle, you will find that the picture is not that deep, and so is the telephoto.

When I was a child, I heard the poem "I don't know the moon when I was young, it's called Bai Yupan". In fact, it is the principle that the moon is so big, so far and so small. Why is it so small in our eyes? So that there is only a white dot on the phone.

This is the perspective principle.

The moon is big and the building is close, but it is small, because you are too far away from the moon and too close to the building. But if you are far enough away from the house, the moon will be big and the house will become small.

Taking portraits with a wide-angle lens has a strong sense of perspective. Try shooting from bottom to top to see if there are any long legs. Taking a portrait with a telephoto lens will have a flattening effect.

Angle of view and focal length will affect each other, but there is no absolute relationship, and it is also related to shooting distance. Close, strong perspective.
