Ancient Site of the Three Gorges of the Yellow River

The unearthed pottery is all painted pottery, with fine texture, orange-yellow background color, shiny, and the whole body is decorated with black paint. Qinweijia ruins
The Qinweijia ruins are located in Qinweijia Village, Lianhua Township, Yongjing County (later submerged by Liujia Gorge reservoir water). In 1960, 138 ancient tombs with single and joint burials were excavated. The tombs are arranged in rows, and the burial objects include pottery, bone vessels, etc. In joint tombs, men lie on their backs and women lie on their sides with their legs bent toward the men. Guo Moruo spoke highly of the excavation of the joint burial tomb and believed that at that time, the matrilineal clan had entered a patrilineal clan society. The Qinwei Family Site belongs to the Qijia Cultural Site.
Zhangjiazui Ruins
The Zhangjiazui Ruins are located in Zhangjiazui Village, Hedong Township, Yongjing County (submerged by Liujiaxia Reservoir). In 1960, 4 square conical houses and 3 round conical houses were excavated. At the same time, many stone tools such as knives, axes, chisels, pestles, and spinning wheels, fine and coarse pottery such as cups, pots, and amphora, and dog, pig, and cow bones were unearthed. This reflects the transition from matrilineal clan communes to patrilineal clan communes in the territory at that time. It belongs to the Zhangjiazui type of Xindian culture.
Maluyuan Ruins
Maluyuan Ruins is located in Maluyuan, Jijiachuan Village, Xianyuan Township, with a protected area of ??7 acres. During the cultural relics survey in 1975, a 7-meter-long and 80-centimeter-thick layer of ash was found 30 centimeters above the surface at Mohe Mouth, and many pottery fragments and bone vessels were unearthed. The pottery sherds are fine clay red pottery, orange-red in color, decorated with black paint, parallel stripes, diagonal lines, water ripples, and sand-filled red pottery sherds, belonging to the Xindian culture. On the cliff face 50 centimeters from the surface, residential remains were found, 6 meters long and 60 centimeters thick. The ground was rammed and there was a pebble layer underneath. Two stone knives and one single-eared pottery cup were also unearthed. The pottery cup is made of sand-filled red pottery, orange-red in color, and decorated with black paint. The upper part has a broad stripe, and the lower part has three sets of stripes, each set of 3 stripes, with hooks. The height of the cup is 5 cm, the diameter is 6 cm, and the bottom diameter is 3 cm. . It is a Xindian cultural site.
