Introduction to Super 8

1979 In the summer, a group of teenagers lived in a small town in Ohio. They like movies. One day, in order to finish their own film, they brought a super 8 mm camera to shoot near the railway station. They witnessed a tragic train collision. They found that their biology teacher hit a train with his car, which led to the disaster. When they saw the army coming, they left the scene at once.

However, life in the small town began to become unusual. First there was an intermittent power outage in the town, and then all the dogs in the town ran away. With the disappearance of electrical appliances and residents in the town, the town's deputy sheriff (the father of the hero boy) began to think that this was not an ordinary train collision.

In order to find the missing beloved girl, the little boy Joe resolutely broke into the school in the town when the army was carrying out the "Expeditionary Force" plan, that is, the town destruction plan, and discovered the secret of the biology teacher-it turned out to be a spider-like alien who was tortured, studied and imprisoned by human beings and lost on the earth. The disappearance of electrical appliances in the town is also because aliens need them to make a spaceship back to another planet.

In the end, the alien killed the army leader who hurt it and returned to outer space with the built spaceship. The little boy also found the place where the aliens imprisoned the residents of the town and rescued the little girl. At the end of the movie, the little boy Joe and his father lost their mother and wife. After this incident, they finally got through it and understood that life had to go on, and they needed to let go of their past misfortunes and pains before they could live.
