Gao Liang's life story

Gao Liang, 1922 was born, 1937 joined the Eighth Route Army, and 1944 worked as a photojournalist in the Pictorial newspaper of the Jinchaji Military Region. A large number of photos he took during the war years are precious records of China's revolutionary war. He is also an experienced commander, who made great achievements in the liberation of Shijiazhuang in 1947. He insisted on taking pictures at the battle scene and set an example for news photographers.

Comrade Gao Liang died in Beijing on June 6th+10/October 26th +0, 2006, at the age of 84. During his stay in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, Comrade Gao Liang served as a clerk, secretary, instructor, instructor, detachment political commissar and regiment political commissar. In the meantime, he participated in the famous "Pingxingguan Campaign", "Dalonghua Bloody Battle", "Yin Suya Campaign, Huangtuling Campaign", "Jingxing Coal Mine Campaign in Hundred Regiments War, Dongtuanbao Campaign and so on. Fighting against the Japanese aggressors 100 many times, making meritorious deeds and being injured many times. Comrade Gao Liang studied photography from Sha Fei, the pioneer of our army's early photography career, and became the earliest military photojournalist of the Eighth Route Army. Comrade Gao Liang is one of the pioneers of photography in our party and army who grew up in the revolutionary war years.

1944 Due to the need of the anti-Japanese situation, Comrade Gao Liang was ordered to be transferred to the Political Department of the Jinchaji Military Region as a war photographer when he was the deputy political commissar of the Laiyuan detachment of the First Military Division of Jinchaji, and his excellent photographer career began. During this period, he successively served as the section chief, the political commissar of the 73rd regiment of the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Three Vertical and Eight Brigade, and the special correspondent of the Political Department of the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Military Region, and took a lot of precious historical photos.

1946, as a special correspondent of the Fifth Executive Group of the Chinese Communist Party delegation, he was sent to the Military Adjustment Department to participate in the investigation of the Gubeikou Incident and Anping Incident. With his camera, he provided strong evidence and made outstanding contributions to exposing the conspiracy of American imperialism to support the Kuomintang in provoking civil war. During the War of Liberation, Comrade Gao Liang was both a journalist and a commander. In the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei field army, the third and fourth columns served as the political commissar of the regiment many times. Galloping in North China, he participated in Suiyuan Self-Defense War, Huailai Defence War, Bowman Campaign, Clearance Campaign, Daqing Hebei Campaign, Qingfengdian Campaign, Shijiazhuang Liberation Campaign, Zhanan Campaign, Zhangjiakou Liberation Campaign, Ping Jin Liberation Campaign and Taiyuan Liberation Campaign.

When our army withdrew from Zhangjiakou, we organized guards and accompanying reporters to shoot down a plane of Chiang Kai-shek's bandit troops with rifles.

Especially in the "Liberation of Shijiazhuang Campaign", when all the political commissars of the main attack regiment were killed by lightning, he was appointed by Comrade Hu Yaobang, the political commissar of the column, to command the regiment to take the lead in breaking through the enemy city defense lines and going deep into the enemy's headquarters, taking a precious historical picture of the famous "going deep into the enemy's headquarters" and becoming a famous "two-armed general".

During the Battle of Peiping and Tianjin, Comrade Gao Liang was ordered to be the press secretary of Commander Nie on his wedding night, and accompanied Commander Nie through the enemy-occupied area to the frontline headquarters of Peiping and Tianjin to participate in the Battle of Peiping and Tianjin.

During the liberation of Tianjin, Comrade Gao Liang charged with the infantry and filmed fierce battle scenes, including the photo of our army capturing the enemy captain Chen Changjie alive.

During the peaceful liberation of Beiping, he organized and personally filmed the ceremony of the PLA entering the city. After the liberation of the whole country, Comrade Gao Liang participated in founding ceremony as the head of the interview group of North China Military Region Pictorial, and photographed the famous "the first five-star red flag in Tiananmen Square" and the grand parade. Later, Comrade Gao Liang volunteered to fight in the DPRK with the 20th Army of the Volunteers. During the three-year War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, he commanded a journalist brigade of 180 people, climbed ice and paved snow to drill tunnels, and always fought in the front line. He took part in the autumn offensive to crush the American army Vanfrith, the battle against American tanks in Wendengli, the battle of Shangganling and the counterattack in Jincheng, and once again withstood the test of war and severe baptism. In the battle to smash the "autumn offensive" of the US military, the commander of the Corps, Yang Chengwu, was ordered to lead the Corps Guard Battalion to counterattack 5000 highlands and annihilate a reinforced company of the US military. He also recorded many important battle scenes with his camera. For example, Shang Ganling strikes back, Shooting down American planes with anti-aircraft guns donated by the people of China, and Jincheng strikes back. Many of his works have become precious historical materials of our party and army, and have been compiled into large-scale picture books such as War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the War of Liberation and the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. After returning to China, he served as the deputy editor-in-chief (deputy teacher's post) of the soldiers' cultural reading club of the Political Department of Beijing Military Region, and edited and published Comrade Newspaper, Comrade Magazine and Comrade Series, which made his own contribution to the regularization of troops, the improvement of the cultural level of commanders and soldiers and the enrichment of military camp culture.

1955 Comrade Gao Liang was transferred to the People's Daily as the head of photography, responsible for the central news report. Because he is studious and hardworking, he has been fighting in the front line of fierce struggle for a long time. Therefore, he has a high degree of political sensitivity and keen news insight. With skillful skills and artistic conception, he faithfully recorded the touching scenes of China * * * in various major political activities, such as "Chairman Mao meets Chairman Su Jianuo", "Deng Xiaoping meets voroshilov", "Premier Zhou is among the masses" and "Song Qingling's elegant demeanor". His photographs are unpretentious, full of life breath, combining politics, authenticity and artistry perfectly, with strong news and appeal, leaving a high reputation in the photography industry.

After 1957, Comrade Gao Liang was in his prime of life, but he was wrongly classified as a "rightist" and was treated unfairly, so he was forced to leave the journalism he loved for more than 20 years. During the period of "decentralization" in the rural areas of Inner Mongolia, he has always been infinitely loyal to the Party, with no regrets, adhered to the firm belief of * * *, overcame many difficulties with the conscience of an old party member and an old journalist, upheld justice for democracy, shared weal and woe with farmers, safeguarded the prestige of * * * in the eyes of the people, and embodied the noble sentiment and selfless dedication of an old * *.

1979, under the cordial care of Comrade Hu Yaobang and Comrade Geng Biao and the direct questioning of Comrade Hu Yaobang, Comrade Gao Liang refused the work arrangement of the Military Commission and returned to the People's Daily. In his sixties, he picked up his camera again, took a lot of news photos in the years of promoting reform and opening up, and made unremitting efforts for the journalism of the party and the people with a hundred times of enthusiasm. It embodies an old party member's infinite loyalty to the Party.

1983 65438+ 10, with the support of Hui Zhou, secretary of the Party Committee of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and An Gang, editor-in-chief of Economic Daily, Comrade Gao Liang published the article "Hetao farmers are afraid of six tigers" in the first edition of Economic Daily. After the article was published, it attracted the attention of the central government and launched a nationwide investigation and punishment campaign against the "six tigers". Comrade Gao Liang presided over justice for farmers under great pressure and won the heartfelt love of farmers in Hetao. The farmers said happily, "With * * *, we farmers are no longer afraid of this tiger and that tiger." Comrade Gao Liang, with selfless and fearless revolutionary spirit, maintained the prestige of the Party in the people's minds and reproduced the noble sentiments and selfless dedication of an old party member.

Comrade Gao Liang cared about the youth in his later years, promoted backward, and enthusiastically trained a large number of young photographers.
