How to take beautiful travel photos?

Do you travel abroad? It doesn't matter where you go. What is certain is that you want to record this beautiful memory in the form of beautiful photos. But for some reason, some photos are blurred, others are boring and don't convey the feelings you want to convey. If you encounter this situation, then this series of articles is suitable for you, and you will learn how to take high-quality travel photos.

Get the camera ready

When going out, please check whether the battery is fully charged and whether there is enough space on the flash memory card. Interesting moments and scenes are often encountered during the journey. The most interesting and unforgettable pictures are unexpected. It is recommended that your camera should have at least two batteries, preferably several flash cards or a device for storing photos.

Try to display only the theme on the screen.

Close to your topic. Remove all unnecessary things from the frame, and the main body will become prominent and meticulous. If you are shooting people or animals and don't want to attract others' attention, please use the lens to zoom, but remember that better photos come from close range.

In this photo, the attention is completely focused on orchids, and the blurred background only emphasizes the beauty of flowers.

Take a portrait

Try to take pictures of people when they are busy working, talking or just moving. After all, you don't want to freeze the unnatural face in the photo in the position waiting to press the shutter. If you want to film people's activities, please make sure that you don't attract their attention, otherwise you'd better ask their permission, because the customs of people in other countries/regions are different from yours.

Background selection in photos

Try to choose a unified, implicit and implicit background. Make sure that the less details there are in the background, the better. The viewer's eyes should focus on the subject itself. The more uniform the background, the better the lens will look. When choosing a unified background, try to choose a shooting point that can delete unnecessary background details from the picture. If there is no such background, blur the existing background and highlight the theme; You can do this by opening the aperture (choose a smaller value) and you will get a photo with a shallow depth of field.

Place the subject correctly in the picture.

When composing a composition, please don't center the subject, which will make the photo look very static and boring. Moving the theme from the center to the side will increase the dynamic and expressive force of the picture. Use the trisection method, that is, visually divide the image in the viewfinder into two thirds horizontally and vertically (see figure), thus obtaining 9 segments.

There is an axiom in photography theory, that is, if the object of interest to the photographer is located at the intersection or along the grid line, the photo will become more balanced and leave a deeper impression on the viewer. Research shows that the human eye can't help choosing a point instead of the center of the image, that is to say, "trisection" is one of the characteristics of our vision and is used in photography. Therefore, all the objects to be focused are placed at the intersection of these lines. If you want to shoot the scenery, please put the horizontal line on a horizontal line.

In the photo, the "bud" of the coconut tree is located at the intersection of two-thirds of the lines, so the photo looks very expressive.

In the photo, the "buds" of coconut trees are located at the intersection of two-thirds lines, but other than that, the horizon is located at the bottom line of two-thirds grid, so this sunset looks very interesting.

Optimal lighting of the subject

Try to choose the best lighting for your theme. There must be enough light on the camera sensor to get a clear, bright and beautiful image. The best condition is natural lighting. If the light is insufficient, please turn on all available lights and use the flash. The distance from the subject should not exceed the flash range. Usually, depending on the specific camera model, the built-in flash is effective within a distance of 1-6m. The flash range can be found in the camera manual. However, if possible, please try not to use the built-in flash. When I was with her, the photos didn't look so beautiful and natural. If you can choose a hand-held photo with a flash or a photo taken by a tripod without a flash, you'd better choose the latter.

Every way, every object has the right lighting. Use shadow painting when shooting, try to use different light sources: lanterns, lights, candles, and take interesting photos.

Exposure compensation

When shooting in automatic mode at night, you may take too bright photos. To reproduce the night light, please adjust one or two gears. If shooting white objects, such as people wearing white clothes or white cars, it is suggested to increase one or two apertures (about+1.5 EV).

When shooting on cloudy or rainy days, photos usually look gloomy and boring. So please make exposure compensation of +0.5-+ 1.5 EV.

You need to try more in photography. The more photos you take, the richer the composition experience and the more interesting the photos are.
