According to the experimental data of radiation dose comparison between digital tomography scanner and general dental X-ray machine in the Department of Radiology, Stomatological Hospital of Jilin University, the radiation doses of children and adults using general dental X-ray machine are (2.180 0.120) msv and (4.130.214) respectively. The radiation dose of digital body surface tomography scanner is (0.438±0.045)mSv and (1.116 0.075) msv respectively. The radiation dose of common dental X-ray machine is 6.22 times (P0.00 1) and 3.5 times respectively.

That is to say, the maximum radiation of the panoramic machine for curved surface tomography does not exceed 5mSv and 5 millisieverts. Radiation intensity is not high. If the building is not designed for radiation protection, generally 3-5 mm is enough.
