The legend of Yaowangshan

According to legend, the cliff at the top of it is where Princess Wencheng worships the East when she misses her hometown. This cave was excavated in the era of Songzan Gambu. It is said that Muya Princess Ruyong of Songzan Gambu in Tibet carved a Brahma statue on the cliff of Chalarup, and used the salt that was in short supply in Tibet at that time as a reward for craftsmen. She dug a liter of cliff powder and gave a liter of salt. Then, a turning corridor was dug in the grottoes. After more than a thousand years of ups and downs, this rare cave temple in Lhasa is still well preserved.

Wang Yao has a cliff with thousands of Buddha statues carved on the huge cliff, which is very spectacular. Today, the jingle of chiseling stones still echoes in people's ears.

Wang Yao is the best angle to shoot the Potala Palace, especially halfway up the mountain. In the early morning of the tourist season, many photographers and photographers often gather on Wang Yao Mountain, waiting for the first sunshine to illuminate the Potala Palace.

Yaowangshan, whose Tibetan name is Jiabori, means "the mountain on the corner of the mountain". It's on the right side of Potala Palace in Lhasa. At an altitude of 3725 meters, there is a path leading to the summit.

Wang Yaoshan is close to Hongshan, where Potala Palace is located, and a main road of the city passes between the two mountains. In the past, the two mountains were connected by a white tower, and below it was a doorway, which was the gateway to Lhasa. In the 1960s, Lhasa was expanded and the stupa was demolished. Dozens of meters wide asphalt road opened the distance between the two mountains. Some people think it is broken, and they try to connect the two mountains with prayer flags. Every year when the Tibetan calendar comes, devout believers will come here to hang new banners. It has been reconnected with the tower.

There is a grotto temple on the east side of Wang Yaoshan, which is a grotto temple with a strange shape. It falls from the steep hillside at the foot of Wang Yao Mountain and is called Chara Rup. The grotto is an irregular rectangle with an area of about 27 square meters. There is a central pillar at the mouth of the cave. There is a narrow corridor between the central column and the cave wall. There are 69 stone statues on the rock wall, which are arranged on both sides of the corridor. On the north side of the stone wall, there are statues of Princess Songzan Gambu, Wencheng and Chizun, and there are also important ministers Tunmisambuza and Ludongzan. The light in the cave is dim, and it is all illuminated by butter lamps. If you go to see it, don't forget to take the lead.
