Sun Moon Lake

Sun Moon Lake, a famous scenic spot in Taiwan Province Province, is the only natural lake in Taiwan Province Province, and its natural charm is comparable to that of Hangzhou West Lake. The lake is 740 meters above sea level, with an area of 7.73 square kilometers, a circumference of 35 kilometers and an average water depth of 40 meters. There is an island in the pool called Zhu Zaiyu, also known as Pig Mountain, with an altitude of 745 meters. Taking this island as the boundary, the northern half lake looks like a full moon and the southern half lake looks like a crescent moon, hence the name Sun Moon Lake.

Sun Moon Lake was originally two independent lakes. Later, due to the need of power generation, a dam was built downstream, and the water level rose, so the two lakes merged into one. There is an island in the pool, which looks like a bead floating on the water from a distance, so it is called Zhuzi Island, and now it is called Guanghua Island. Taking this island as the boundary, the northern part of the lake looks like sun gear, and the southern part looks like the first quarter moon, hence the name Sun Moon Lake. One of the eight scenic spots in old Taiwan, the "double-cylinder autumn moon" came from this.

The beauty of Sun Moon Lake is that it is surrounded by mountains, with green peaks and clear waters. Throughout the year, the scenery is different in the morning and evening. The average temperature in July is not higher than 22 degrees Celsius, and 1 month is not lower than 15 degrees Celsius. This is a refreshing and pleasant summer resort.

Tandong Shuishe Mountain is more than 2000 meters above sea level, reflecting the morning glow and the peaks, with beautiful scenery. There is a Wuwen Temple in the north of Tanbei Mountain.
