The Personal Life of Sidney David gamble
After finishing college and getting a master's degree in social economics, Gambo came to China again and again. From1917-19 1924- 1927,1931-/kloc- He used questionnaires, field trips, photos and movies. For modern anthropology, the research methods adopted at that time were very advanced. Gambo has published five books on social characteristics in Beijing and other parts of China, but so far no Chinese version has been published. Gambo's photos are from the perspective of sympathy to study and understand China at that time. He thinks that many poor people in China are too peaceful to bear the difficult living environment. However, Gambo believed that the poverty level was unreasonable, and hoped to explore ways to help through social investigation and evaluation. Gambo also assisted the volunteer and charity work of the YMCA of China at that time. Some photos of Gambo were not discovered until 1984, when his descendants found these photos in a shoe box and gave them to sinologists in the museum. In 1989, these photos were first exhibited in 19 cities in North America and 13 cities in Chinese mainland. 1968, Gambo died in new york. His academic works and photographs show his rigorous scientific attitude, keen historical vision, profound artistic accomplishment and cordial and friendly character towards foreign nations.
