What are the photography skills of SLR cameras when traveling?
Basic shooting skills (1) Observe first, then shoot.
Many students will take pictures when they arrive at a scenic spot. In fact, the shooting angle at first sight is not the best. We can enjoy the scenic spots first, see what they are and what their characteristics are, and figure out which angle to take meaningful and story-telling photos.
Most people will shoot like this when they encounter this situation. Although they can remember the green appearance, they are ordinary.

By changing the angle, you can take the previous photo as a silhouette and bring sunshine into the photo. By changing the angle, you can take the previous photo as a silhouette and bring sunshine into the photo.
(2) Pay attention to the direction of light.
As a novice, you may not be familiar with light. The simplest thing is to see whether the subject is "forward light", "side light" or "reverse light".
"Guang Shun" can shoot bright scenery, but it will be a bit boring;
"Side light" makes the scene have a shadow and expresses the outline;
"Backlight" can take a silhouette, or deliberately take overexposed photos;
When traveling, you may not be able to shoot in the best time and light. At this time, you should make good use of the characteristics of the light above to compose a composition! If you can, it's also a good idea to walk more and change your angle.
Even if it is a backlit photo, the dark part can be pulled out by software. Even if it is a backlit photo, the dark part can be pulled out by software.
(3) Avoid electric shock on the hands
Remember not to keep shooting and forget to pay attention to the shutter speed! At any time, it is best to keep the shutter at the "safety shutter" or faster when holding it, so as to avoid loosening the photo.
Safety shutter = 1/ (focal length) seconds; (but the minimum is 1/50 seconds)
Example:
When using the focal length of 105mm, the shutter must be longer than1105 seconds;
When using 18mm focal length, the shutter is not118 seconds, but 1/50 seconds;
In extremely dark conditions, the subject should be close to the light source, shoot with a large aperture lens, ISO and aperture should also be improved, and the shutter should be as close as possible to the "safety shutter". (f/1.4 |1/60s | ISO400)

(d) Turn on Auto ISO.
The automatic ISO function can make you feel more comfortable when shooting. You only need to pay attention to the aperture you should use, and the camera will automatically adjust the appropriate ISO value to keep the shutter speed.
Automatic ISO can help you adjust the appropriate ISO and shoot easily in a dark environment. Automatic ISO can help you adjust the appropriate ISO and shoot easily in a dark environment.
(5) Pay attention to white balance
Generally speaking, automatic white balance or "daylight" white balance can be used when shooting in broad daylight or during the day. Unless some rooms have light sources of other colors, such as museums and restaurants, a more appropriate white balance should be adjusted. The contrast of white balance can refer to this article: Make the photo atmosphere stronger-the magic of white balance!
Different white balances can bring out different atmospheres. The one on the left is 4000K, which is close to sunlight when shooting, and the one on the right is 9000K, which warms up the picture. (6) Shooting portraits when backlighting/backlighting.
Backlight/Backlight When shooting portraits, there are three options:
Turn on the flash to fill the light;
Portrait metering, background overexposure;
Take a silhouette portrait
You can figure out what to do before you shoot.
If you want to keep the background backlit, you can turn on the built-in flash to fill the light.

(7) Take original photos
Tourist attractions may not be able to go again in a short time, so you can choose the storage format of RAW when shooting, so that you can have more room for modification in post-production to cope with exposure errors. If possible, saving RAW+JPG can best balance post-production and convenience! Note that RAW files need special software or Photoshop with Camera RAW plug-in to read. Please refer to this article for the introduction of RAW files: should I shoot RAW or JPG?
It takes only 1 minute to take completely different photos through RAW files. Isn't it amazing?

(8) Pay attention to whether the scenic spots can be photographed.
As a responsible and orderly photographer, we need to always pay attention to whether the scenic spots we visit are allowed to shoot. Some scenic spots can be photographed but not with flash. Remember to adjust the camera's "forced off flash" option.

(9) Use "Exposure Compensation (+/-EV)" when appropriate.
When shooting white, black, sky, trees and dark materials, the camera's metering system may go wrong. Remember to manually adjust the exposure compensation at this time. The formula is simple:
Seeing light is light (+EV), and seeing darkness is dark (-EV).
Example: When facing the sky (very bright), we want +EV, while facing the dark jungle or building (very dark), we want -EV.
Speaking of white, do you think it should be +EV or -EV? (Answer: +EV) When it is white, do you think it should be +EV or -EV? (answer: +EV)
