Since then, "air corridors" have been gradually built in old urban areas such as Renmin South Road, Beijing Road, Yiyi Road, and Huifu Road. , was the pride of many veterans back then. On September 30, 1980, the first cross-street pedestrian bridge in Guangzhou and the first in the country was built on Renmin South Road and Xihao 2nd Road.
In February 1983, a strange-looking steel structure overpass was built at the junction of Zhongshan 5th Road and Yiyi Road. It was the earliest fourth overpass in Guangzhou. At the end of 1995, due to the construction of the subway, the overpass was demolished, and the dismantled steel structure materials were moved and placed at the junction of Wenming Road and Wende Road. Due to the convenient transportation nearby, after its completion in 1996, it became the only way for many neighbors to enter the Beijing Road business district. This "Blue Octopus" overpass was built in February 1983 and demolished in June 2011.
