While developing satellite photos, an expert came across the whole building overlooking Jingshan Park at the northern end of the Forbidden City on the central axis of Beijing, clustered together like a sitting portrait.
The Shouhuang Temple complex in the park is the first of the "sitting statues", and the main hall and the palace gate form the eyes, nose, mouth and smiling face. Is this portrait intentional or coincidental by the ancients? Discovers and experts have conducted detailed research and textual research on this. In May, 2004, a special photo exhibition was held in Qiwanglou Hall of Jingshan Park in Beijing. One of the works caught everyone's attention at the scene. This is an aerial photo of Jingshan Park. Amazing discovery
The landscape of Jingshan Park is particularly like a portrait sitting with eyes closed.
1978 In February, in a darkroom of China Academy of Space Technology, Zhongyu Kui was developing the negative film taken by China's recoverable remote sensing satellite. Zhong Yu Kui is a researcher of China Academy of Surveying and Mapping, and the earliest researcher engaged in the basic theory of remote sensing in China. Because he has been engaged in the recognition and interpretation of space remote sensing films for a long time, strange graphics and discolored objects have become his interested objects.
Kui Zhongyu was anxious to have a look, so he put the photo on the table just before the film dried. Looking north from Tiananmen Square, along the central axis, a magical image is displayed in the north of the Forbidden City, surrounded by a square frame, similar to a statue of an old man sitting in the middle. Kun Zhongyu was very shocked. So he hurriedly called his companions to watch, and there was indeed an approximate portrait in the position of Jingshan Park at the northern end of the Forbidden City.
After careful identification, the frame of this image is composed of the inner and outer walls around Jingshan Park, which is similar to the most beautiful golden ratio. Its area is 0.23 square kilometers. If it is really a portrait, it will be the portrait of the largest man-made building in the world.
Remote sensing is a non-contact technology to detect the properties of objects. Why did remote sensing find this portrait in Jingshan Park on the central axis of Beijing? Jingshan, as a palace garden, has gradually become the center of the north-south axis of Beijing, from piling mountains in Liao Dynasty to gardening in Jin Dynasty. Jingshan Garden is built according to the same regulations as the Forbidden City, and there are many places worth seeing. There is a place where Emperor Chongzhen hanged himself in the Ming Dynasty, and Wanshun Pavilion in Jingshan is also the best place to appreciate the style of the ancient capital.
During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Jingshan Mountain was built on a large scale and gradually formed a beautiful and unique garden landscape. Today's Jingshan has basically maintained the garden style in the heyday of Qianlong, so it is called the palace barrier and the mountain forest in the city.
Kui Zhongyu tried to uncover the mystery of Jingshan's sitting image from a few shooting materials. 1983 Beijing wanted to shoot the whole city, and also chose a photographic negative designed by Kui Zhongyu. It turned out that the image turned out to be a smiling photo. Kui Zhongyu made this part of Jingshan Park into a painting. After identification, it was found that Jingshan formed the body of a person sitting on a plate, and the buildings of Shouhuang Temple formed the head of a person. His eyes are the inner palace wall, his eyebrows are made of trees, and his beard is made of triangular wood with very symmetrical edges, but it is separated by the outer wall of Shouhuang Hall.
After years of investigation, Kui Zhongyu believes that the composition of Jingshan statue is related to human factors. The vegetation in Jingshan Mountain is very dense, with more than 900 ancient trees, and their DBH is generally above 40 cm. These trees play a very good role in the landscape composition. Regarding whether fences and trees constitute portraits, Director Shen Fang, who has worked in Jingshan Park for many years, believes that there is an ancient tree with a history of more than 600 years at the east gate of Shouhuang Hall. According to common sense, it is impossible for the ancients to put this tree in front of the door, which also shows that the tree is in front and the building is behind. look for clues
Who is this Jingshan statue? This question has been lingering in the mind of Kui Zhongyu.
Qin 'an Hall is the northernmost palace on the central axis of the Forbidden City. Built in Yongle period of Ming Dynasty, it has not been opened to the public for many years. There is a statue of Xuanwu the Great, called the Water God. "Xuan" means black, and "Wu" was interpreted by the ancients as tortoise shell. Xuanwu represents the north in the Five Elements and water in the Five Elements. Open the heavy door, the water god Xuanwu Emperor sitting in the middle and the decorations in the hall still maintain the original appearance of the Ming Dynasty.
Kui Zhongyu compared the portraits of Xuanwu God and Jingshan Mountain in Qin 'an Temple, and there are some similarities. However, some scholars believe that Xuanwu God has loose hair, wears a black robe and holds a sword. This image doesn't quite match that of Jingshan. The mystery of Jingshan statue still puzzles another person, that is, Zhang Fuqiang who has worked in Jingshan Park for more than 20 years. By chance, he read the article on Jingshan statue, and thought that it was intentional by the ancients, so he couldn't draw a conclusion too early and had to find strong evidence.
The evidence is to find Miyagi drawings that can reflect the overall architectural pattern of Gujing Mountain. After many twists and turns, Zhang Fuqiang found a map of the Miyagi garrison in the eighteenth year of Kangxi. He was surprised to find that the location of Jingshan Shouhuang Hall is not the same as today, but more than ten meters to the east. What's going on here? The engineering drawing was not very clear, so he enlarged it according to the scale of the original drawing and redrawn the architectural plan of Shouhuang Hall.
After comparing historical materials, Zhang Fuqiang came up with an idea. Jingshan maintained the overall pattern of architecture in the Ming Dynasty at that time, that is to say, before the Qing Dynasty, the Shouhuang Hall in the Ming Dynasty was always used. From the composition point of view, if in ancient times, the Shouhuang Temple complex was designed as the face of an ancient portrait, then this painting did not appear in the eighteenth year of Kangxi.
According to historical records, the Shouhuang Temple complex was rebuilt in the 14th year of Qianlong. So, this time, Shouhuang Hall was moved to the central axis. Will there be such a record, what is the relationship between the repair of Shouhuang Temple complex and human statues? If so, where will it be recorded?
Betin's Secret
There is a pavilion on each side of Shouhuang Hall, but few people mention what the inscription is about.
Geng, an expert on landscape culture in Beijing Garden Bureau, once said: "China people have a strong sense of historical responsibility, and everything they do is responsible for future generations. For example, when the ancients built the building, who built it, how much it cost, and when it was rebuilt, it will be recorded after the project is completed. "
So did Emperor Qianlong know that there was once a sitting statue with an elegant sitting posture and a smile at his feet? If this is deliberately built, according to the custom of ancient architecture, there will be relevant inscriptions handed down. However, since Emperor Qianlong built this pavilion, few people have really witnessed the whole picture of the inscription.
In the second half of 2003, the pavilions on both sides of Shouhuang Hall were repaired. As the manager of Jingshan, Zhang Fuqiang found an opportunity to enter the exhibition hall, read the inscription carefully and took notes. After analysis, the inscription only describes the purpose and significance of building the Shouhuang Hall, and does not involve any content about making the Shouhuang Hall into a human form.
In fact, some ancient buildings have realized the architectural pattern according to people's wishes. For example, the predecessor of the Summer Palace is Qingyi Garden, which is at the top of the eastern Wanshou Mountain, which is now the location of Jingfu Pavilion. The original religious building was called the Epiphyllum Pavilion, which was built at that time to worship the Buddha. The plane of this epiphyllum pavilion is in the shape of six petals, which was obviously a fake at that time.
Zhong-yu Kui wrote to Mr. Pu Jie and his relatives, asking whether Jingshan architecture was related to portraits. As a result of the reply, their relatives were in the Qing palace at that time and never discussed such a thing. This shows that the whole Qing dynasty is not clear whether there is an image of Jingshan. Did the sculptor hide this painting on purpose? Unfortunately, such a basis has never been found.
Many experts and scholars also put forward their own views on whether the portrait of Jingshan was intentionally created by the ancients, and made a field trip to Jingshan Park. Mr. Luo is the leader of the National Cultural Heritage Administration Ancient Architecture Expert Group, who has been engaged in classical garden architecture in China for more than 60 years. He believes that the key now is whether the ancients consciously made a portrait of Jingshan Garden when they originally designed or rebuilt it. At present, the original design drawings can not be found, nor can they be found in many documents. Luo Lao said that this is the mystery.
Some scholars believe that whether Jingshan is sitting like a statue has become less important in the process of thinking. What matters is whether we have a scientific attitude and scientific exploration thinking.
Just like facing a mountain, a geologist first thinks of when this rock was formed; A person who paints landscape paintings first thinks of which technique of Chinese painting is more suitable; When the herdsmen in the mountains go, they will think of whether this place is good for herding cattle or sheep; If soldiers come, they will definitely consider whether this mountain is easy to attack or defend.
