Characteristics of anti-shake lens

In fact, the anti-shake lens is a new type of photographic lens, which was developed to prevent the photographer from holding a telephoto lens and affecting the image quality.

Let me first take a look at an anti-shake lens of Canon:

Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM- structural drawing

The most important feature of the anti-shake lens is that a special optical compensation device for reducing vibration is installed on the lens, which consists of a swinging gyroscope and a moving optical system.

When the light of the subject is brighter than the photographic lens to image the film surface, the camera and lens shake due to the low-speed shutter or the photographer holding the camera at the telephoto end of the lens or other reasons, thus blurring the imaging of the light of the subject on the film surface.

The vibration-damping photographic lens designed to prevent or weaken this phenomenon can eliminate the deviation of lens optical axis caused by lens jitter and keep the subject light reaching the film surface in a relatively stable position.

The working principle of anti-shake lens is:

When a hand-held camera uses a low-speed shutter or the telephoto end of the lens, the lens optical axis jitter can be divided into vertical motion (up-down jitter) and horizontal motion (left-right jitter). The deviation degree of lens optical axis jitter is detected by the swing gyroscope (namely angular velocity sensor) installed in the lens, and the detected data is sent to a microcomputer for ultra-high speed calculation, and the calculation result is converted into a driving signal, and then the moving optical system with the integrated structure of magnetic circuit board and magnet is driven in the direction of eliminating the influence of jitter to compensate for jitter.

In the process of camera shutter opening and film exposure, the whole process of jitter detection, computer ultra-high-speed calculation and driving mobile optical system for jitter compensation is repeated at the shortest interval.

Art galleries, museums, theaters, concert halls, etc. generally prohibit the use of flash photography. And it is generally inconvenient to use a tripod in these occasions. Therefore, in this case, good results can be obtained by shooting with a hand-held camera using a vibration-damping camera lens.

Finally, I tell you that photographers can also rely on the unique function of vibration-damping camera lens to shoot at a lower shutter speed and shoot the subject with a lower shutter speed into a special effect. In some cases, it is not necessary to use a high-speed photosensitive plate to avoid vibration, but you can still use a medium-speed photosensitive plate to shoot the subject into finer particles.
