The film is based on the true story of students from Shenzhen Experimental School and Xia Qi Middle School in Jinggangshan City in the "hand in hand" mutual assistance activities. It was written by Su Manhua, a famous children's playwright in Shenzhen, directed by Li Hong, a famous children's film director, and jointly filmed by Shenzhen Film Studio, Shenzhen Federation of Literary and Art Circles, National Youth Working Committee and Anhui Suzhou TV Station. The film started shooting in 2003 and was officially released in 2004. At present, it has been shown in many cities across the country, with a cumulative box office of more than 10 million yuan. Zhao Jianguo, the producer of the film, was deeply touched when he learned that the film won the prize: There were too many twists and turns and stories in the production process of "We Hand in Hand", and now the film has been recognized again, and all the efforts are worth it!

Li Hong, the director of this film, once served as an assistant director in the films No Child Left Behind and My Mom and Dad directed by Zhang Yimou.

The person in charge of Shenzhen Federation of Literary and Art Circles said that through this case, they realized the importance of "protecting intellectual property rights".
