How to shoot the Phnom Penh on the ceramic tableware

The arrangement of lights. In terms of lighting, taking porcelain is more particular. The key points are: (l) Don't use direct light; (2) Don't set too many lights. With direct light, there will inevitably be dazzling reflective points; If you use too much light, the projection will be chaotic, and the stereoscopic effect of the object will be difficult to show on the screen. Of course, the multi-lamp method can also be used to shoot better results. But what if you only have one lamp? The only thing we can do is to try to soften the lamp. Softening means adding appropriate soft light equipment. Soft light equipment can be made by itself. As long as a piece of white translucent paper is erected about 50 cm in front of the lamp, the light source can be scattered and the light and shade can have a soft effect. The degree of softening can be judged according to the depth of the object. Once the light source is added to this paper, it will definitely get a certain degree of softening effect. Of course, the effect is not as good as the special soft light box or soft light cover.

If there is only one main light, it is undoubtedly not enough. Adding a lamp on the other side to eliminate the shadow and improve the brightness of the dark part is of course the most ideal. However, if there is really only one lamp, it is not impossible to take pictures. You can put the main light on the upper left of the main body, and then put a large reflector on the lower right to fill the dark part of the main body.

Other issues. The attached drawings were taken by the above method. There is only one lamp in the background, and only one lamp is used as the main light source. A soft mask is added in front of the main lamp, which greatly improves the contrast of the picture and the reflection of the porcelain surface. Under the illumination of this main lamp, as long as the dark part is slightly supplemented, the brightness and layering of the picture can have satisfactory effects. In general, it is more suitable to use large (4X 6 feet) white pine as reflector. Gold paper, newspapers or mirrors are too reflective to porcelain.

When shooting this kind of goods, the biggest function of 4X5 camera is to help the picture adjust the angle of view properly and correct unnecessary deformation. If not adjusted, the object tends to be slightly flat in the vertical direction, and at first glance it will have an unpleasant feeling. The adjustment method is simple, as long as the plane and back of the lens are adjusted to a position close to the horizontal direction.
