Shi Weixian's character deeds

1936, Master Wei Xian was admitted to Sino-Tibetan Methodist College and became the youngest student at that time. Sino-Tibetan Buddhist College is a Buddhist college founded by Master Taixu, a famous contemporary Buddhist leader, to communicate the two major schools of Chinese Buddhism and Tibetan Buddhism. It belongs to one of the world Buddhist colleges proposed by Master Taixu, and its full name is the Buddhist College of Sino-Tibetan Language Department. The hospital is located in Jinyun Mountain, Beibei, Chongqing, with the support of Sichuan warlords Liu and Liu Xiang. School starts on August 20th. 1932. Master Tai Xu presided over the opening ceremony. The College of Education has an ordinary four-year system and an advanced three-year system. Every year, 40 official students (monks) and 20 affiliated students (monks or family members) are enrolled. "Formal tuition fees are free, and the monthly allowance is increased from one yuan to four yuan per year. The affiliated students are required to pay accommodation fees and book fees as appropriate, but if they are dismissed or dropped out of school in violation of regulations, the guarantor must be liable for compensation. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, the Kuomintang government took Chongqing as its capital, and Master Taixu lived in Chongqing all the year round. The teaching department has become a center of Buddhism in China, with outstanding teachers from all over the country, such as Master Fazun, Master Fafang, Master Yinshun, Master Cedar, layman such as Huang, Pan Huaisu and some celebrities, such as Guo Moruo, Lao She, Tian Han, Liang Shuming and Ma Yinchu. /kloc-in the spring of 0/950, the people's government was established and the Sino-Tibetan Religious Institute ended.

Wei Xian studied in Sino-Tibetan Institute of Education, and then graduated from regular classes to specialized classes. In this good environment, he received a systematic Buddhist education, and more importantly, he learned how to be a man. Master Taixu wears grey cloth robes and eats vegetable porridge all the year round, and earnestly teaches monks to "be selfless and avoid laziness for the public", improve their life and personality, share great sorrow and strive for the greatness of bodhisattva. Buddhists talk about "eight meanings" and "true faith", that is to say, we must adhere to correct beliefs in order to achieve the right path. Wei Xian's study in the Institute of Education strengthened his belief in Buddhism, and realized that the reason why Buddhism continued to spread in 2000 was that a group of true believers safeguarded the interests of Buddhism, established the authority of Buddhism, and led the majority of believers to engage in the great cause of Buddhism. Master Taixu is a model in this respect. Taixu is very concerned about Buddhism in the real society and its future development. He talked about realism theory in the Institute of Education, publicized the concept of "life Buddhism", and taught monks to actively care about the future Buddhist cause with the attitude of joining the WTO, thus achieving the great mission of Bodhisattva. Master Taixu's college motto for students is "light, bright and sensitive". Light indifferent to material desires, greedy, can keep precepts; It is best to be quiet, that is, to keep meditating and not think about it; To be clear is to be able to distinguish between good and evil by reasoning, and not to be obsessed with subjectivity and objectivity, that is, wisdom; Sensitive, approachable, able to assess the situation and act rationally. These four words have always influenced Wei Xian's life, so that he never gave up in the most difficult time. Master Taixu taught Wei Xianer a great lesson, which made him grow rapidly, knowledgeable, talented and rich in poetry and prose. At the same time, he also published many papers on understanding and comprehension in the weekly magazines of Tide and Buddhism. 1949165438+1October 27th, China People's Liberation Army entered Chongqing, and the mountain city of Chongqing entered a new era. Under the leadership of the new government, the Buddhist community publicized the policies of the new government and made positive contributions to stabilizing society and calming people's hearts. The national Buddhist community is full of passion and advocates the establishment of a national Buddhist organization-the Chinese Buddhist Association. Buddhists in Chongqing also plan to set up their own Buddhist organization-Chongqing Buddhist Association. 195 1 year, Wei xian was appointed as the secretary of the preparatory group of the Buddhist Association.

However, just as meritocracy is entrusted by others to work hard, it is under pressure from different aspects. Some people saw that Wei Xian was very capable of working and asked him to take off his monk and put him in an institution, but Wei Xian insisted on not agreeing, because he was blessed by Buddhism since he was a child and had the opportunity to learn and let him grow. He has been integrated with Buddhism and is determined to dedicate his life to the Buddha and engage in the great cause of spreading Buddhism and benefiting life all his life. From 65438 to 0954, Wei Xian was unjustly imprisoned and spent nearly 27 years in Chongqing, Luzhou and Nanxi prisons. In prison, after work, he took time to systematically study Chinese and foreign books such as philosophy, medicine and history. Keep in mind Master Tai Xu's four-word motto of "being calm and understanding" to students in Sino-Tibetan religious colleges, persist in reciting Buddhist scriptures such as the Great Compassion Mantra and Heart Sutra, and tide over the difficulties with determination and belief. Once a prison held a study activity, Master Wei Xian gave a one-day report about his experience in studying Mao Zedong's works. The warden was surprised and admired that he had read many books. Although he can't openly express his belief in Buddhism in prison, the mage's inner belief remains unchanged and he treats life with an open mind. Once the mage had a fever of 40 degrees, and the doctor said that he was dying and had to prepare for the funeral. The mage recited the great compassion mantra in his heart. After a few days, the fever was gone, and everyone felt incredible for his sudden recovery.

1980, Wei xian was rehabilitated and released from prison. At that time, he was advised to work in the local area and spend his old age safely. However, he felt that he had wasted a lot of time and should redouble his efforts to make up for the lost time and revitalize the Buddhist cause. He returned to Chongqing and, with the support of the municipal government, devoted himself to the restoration of temples and the implementation of religious policies. 198 1 year, Wei Xian presided over religious activities at Ciyun Temple in Chongqing. Ciyun Temple used to be a famous temple, but at that time it had become the warehouse of the factory, cultural relics were lost and Buddha statues were destroyed. After years of hard work, Ciyun Temple has been restored, the Dojo is neat, the Buddha statue is solemn, cigarettes are lingering, and monks and nuns live in peace, becoming one of the centers of Buddhist activities in Chongqing. 1983 was approved by the State Council as one of the national 142 key open temples. 1984 was promoted to the abbot of Ciyun Temple.

1987 Wei Xian was promoted to vice president and secretary general of Chongqing Buddhist Association in Sichuan Province and executive director of Chinese Buddhist Association. 1990 Dean of Chongqing Buddhist College. 1993 served as the first president of Chongqing Buddhist Association. 1993 took the lead in setting up the Buddhist "Hope Project" in China, and donated more than 2 million yuan to help more than 20,000 out-of-school children. 1998 set up the "Buddhist Charity Merit Association" and the "Mother Project" to care for laid-off workers, which fully reflected the bodhisattva spirit of Buddhism. Among them, Master Ke Xiang donated 200,000 yuan to build two primary schools in Kaixian County, which won unanimous praise from the Buddhist and educational circles in Chongqing. In 2002, he succeeded the second president of Chongqing Buddhist Association. He is currently the chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Chinese Buddhist Association. 201May 18, 92-year-old elder Wei Xian opened the Weibo, taught Buddhism in Weibo, taught all living beings to be close to Buddhism, and answered questions from believers.
