Bhumibol was born in 1927, 65438+February 5, and ascended the throne in 1946. He is the longest reigning king in the world and the ninth king of Bangkok dynasty, and is honored as Rama IX.

Bhumibol was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. He unfortunately lost his father when he was two years old. At the age of six, he moved to Lausanne, Switzerland with his mother and studied science at the University of Lausanne. 1On June 9th, 946, after his brother King ananta Marton (Rama VIII) was suddenly assassinated, Bhumibol succeeded to the throne and was crowned in 1950.

King Bhumibol is versatile, proficient in many foreign languages such as French and German, and has written monographs. He is keen on music and likes piano and saxophone. He has received a doctor's degree in music from the Austrian Conservatory of Music, written many famous songs such as Rain Silk, and published music albums. He likes photography and has held many solo exhibitions abroad. He is proficient in machinery and has won many European invention awards. He is also an excellent sailor. 1967 gold medal in sailing competition of Southeast Asian Games, crossing the Gulf of Thailand.

King Bhumibol suffered a car accident in Switzerland when he was 2 1 year old, and his right eye was blind. In the process of recovery, his relationship with sirikit, then the royal daughter of Thailand's ambassador to France, became more stable. 1 April, 950, they got married and had three daughters,1child.

King Bhumibol has been deeply loved by the Thai people since he ascended the throne. As the longest reigning king in Thai history, King Bhumibol was honored as "Bhumibol the Great" by Thai people on May 8, 1987.
