Director, photographer and screenwriter Liu Zhiyong was born in Changsha, Hunan. My father was a rural film projectionist in the 1970s and 1980s. Influenced by his father, he liked literature and art, especially movies. After graduating from Hunan Normal University majoring in marketing, he recommended himself to Hunan Cable TV to do financial programs, and in 2002, he joined the Literature and Art Center of CCTV as a director. After studying as a director in graduate department of Beijing Film Academy, he left CCTV to shoot films, TV, documentaries and advertisements.
