What are the composition methods?
There are nine commonly used composition methods.
1. central composition method: central composition is to place the subject in the center of the picture for composition. The biggest advantage of this composition method is that the main body is prominent and clear, and the picture is easy to achieve the effect of left and right balance. This is especially effective for rigorous, solemn and decorative photography.
2. horizontal line composition method: horizontal line composition is the most basic composition method, mainly horizontal lines. Horizontal and stretched lines can show a broad, stable and harmonious feeling, which is usually used in lakes, water surfaces, grasslands and so on.
3. vertical line composition method: vertical line composition means that vertical lines are dominant in the picture. Usually, when vertical lines are used for composition, the subject itself conforms to the characteristics of vertical lines, such as trees. The vertical line is a symbolic symbol in people's minds, which can fully show the height and depth of the scenery.
4. Three-point composition method: Three-point composition method, also known as TIC-tac-toe composition method, is a composition method often used in photography, design and other arts. In this method, the scene needs to be divided by two vertical lines and two horizontal lines, so that four intersections can be obtained, and the picture can be focused on one of the four intersections.
5. Symmetric composition method: Symmetric composition means making the scene in the picture symmetrical or central according to a certain symmetry axis or center. It is often used to photograph buildings, tunnels and so on. If it is not completely symmetrical in the early stage, it can also be corrected and cut in the later stage.
6. Diagonal composition method: Diagonal composition refers to the arrangement of subjects along the diagonal direction of the picture, aiming to show the feeling of movement, instability or vitality. Different from the conventional horizontal and vertical, diagonal composition makes the picture more stretched and full and the visual experience more intense for the viewer.
7. guide line composition method: guide line composition method, that is, use lines to guide the viewer's eyes and make them converge to the focus of the picture. A guide line is not necessarily a specific line, but anything that is directional and continuous can be called a guide line. In reality, roads, rivers, colors, shadows and even people's eyes can all be used as guiding lines.
8. frame composition method: frame composition, that is, the composition method of framing the picture will guide the viewer to pay attention to the scene inside the frame and produce the feeling of entering the picture when crossing the door frame. Because the brightness of the frame is often darker than the brightness of the scenery in the frame, the contrast between light and dark is large, so we should pay attention to the problems of overexposure of the scenery in the frame and underexposure of the frame.
9. repeated composition method: repeated composition method, that is, when the subjects are a group of the same things, this group of subjects are photographed at the same time. Monotonously repeating the unified object, occupying the whole picture and without obvious clutter, can also play a prominent role.
