We are born into this world, we grow up, we make friends, we look for opportunities and results, and we must be a member of the circle of friends and family. Each of us will experience this in our life journey. We all hope to recreate those wonderful unforgettable moments, which is why we love photography.

here we discuss the issue of group photos. The group photo is the best award for our age and experience. We use these photos to relive the best moments in our lives in the future, so they must not be prosaic. This article will introduce some skills of taking group photos, and attach wonderful examples, hoping to bring you new inspiration.

1. Break away from convention

Most of the group photos I have seen offline are the same. These photos are so common because most photographers stick to the old rules: let everyone stand in a few rows and press the shutter on the count of three. One of the secrets of taking wonderful group photos is to break the rules. We all have unlimited imagination. Let's give it full play and get rid of the tendency of seeking routine and comfort. The final result will definitely surprise you.

2. Timing is the key

To take a good photo, timing is absolutely necessary. When it comes to timing, I'm not only talking about the right time of day to take pictures, but also about the moment when the shutter is pressed. Being able to catch the right shooting time can greatly reduce your workload, instead of constantly shooting the same scene in order to get a "perfect photo".

3. Light is everything

Sometimes, light is everything. Light is actually the essence of photography. Any good photo benefits from a perfect grasp of light. But this is often the photographer's weakest link. Here are some tips on how to use light efficiently:

1. Make sure everyone is photographed and no one has a shadow on his face;

2. If possible, use a flash, and the result will often be better;

3. consider using reflection.

note: did I say "light is everything"? Well, I also said "break the rules". Take a good look at the following illustrations. How to use light and shadow in the end depends on your creativity.

4. Background

In photography, the background is often as important as the subject. For the same model, photos taken in the scene are often better than those taken in the house. Objectively speaking, changing the background can usually get better results. Take your family or team outdoors. Try shooting in an open scene, not at home or in the studio. And you also have beautiful natural light.

5. Don't just stand there

The shooting angle is what makes a photo stand out. Want to take a different group photo? Then don't just stand there. I don't mean that you have to overcome gravity, just change the shooting angle. For example, let everyone stand on the ground and you shoot from the second floor. Or, kneel down and shoot up. Use your imagination, as long as you don't just stand.
