How to shoot the feeling of film with SLR camera video?

The first is the collection of materials, which is the most important step. God-class colorists can't bring up the film texture with a 360p video full of noise. What I want to say here is that SLR shooting video is really not a strong point, but it is better than its high cost performance, so there are many aspects to pay attention to when shooting:

Before shooting

1, fully manual. M series, ISO manual, white balance manual and focus manual. If you feel unfamiliar, please practice more by yourself. There is no future for SLR to shoot automatically.

2. The shutter speed is 1/60s in the case of N system and 1/50s in the case of P system (in short, it is twice the frame rate). This is to make a single frame produce motion blur and ensure the basic picture is smooth. ISO and aperture can be freely combined. Generally, the smaller the ISO is, the better. In this way, a large aperture can also ensure the depth of the scene, provided that the focus is accurate.

3, pay attention to modify the photo style, design your own style and search for cinestyle on the Internet. The main principle of this is to optimize the internal level of the camera (contrast and sharpness) and keep as much picture information as possible in mov format, which is convenient for later color matching.

4. Before shooting, find a good angle to make a white balance (I don't need to teach you to hold the whiteboard), bang, adjust to the corresponding color temperature, take a good view and adjust the exposure, and then bang, you can start shooting when you feel right. Generally speaking, your personal habit is to darken the 1/3 file rather than overexpose it, and you can't pull it back without raw.

5. If Canon Party wants to shoot scenery, it can consider brushing magic lamp firmware and then opening raw video. This is an artifact! However, the burden on machines, cards and workstations will increase, so use it with caution.

post processing

1, software. Long-film PR color matching is the mainstream, and AE can be considered in filming micro-movies, which will take a little more time and mechanical processing. The small studio is AE+PR, and the richer FCPX+ Da Vinci can achieve many effects. Personally, I think software is just a tool, and there is no need to pursue the latest and strongest. Comfortable with the machine, comfortable running is king.

2. Plug-ins. Magic bullet kit is king, with the built-in color correction effect and mask, almost all color matching effects can be completed, the difference is only the fineness of color matching.

3. The personal process is generally to adjust the RGB curve to a relatively balanced level first, and then use MBL or Colorista, usually dark R.

4. If portraits are involved, it is suggested that the portraits should be masked first, and if they are not very clean, they should be quickly blurred, then particles should be added outside the portraits, and finally black bars should be added up and down the picture to create a widescreen feeling.

5.AE and PR are good workflows, so project files can guide each other. There is no need to export video, so as to minimize the loss of image quality in the middle process.

Hope to adopt

You have to explore this thing slowly, and one day you will take photos that satisfy you.
