I am a novice photographer. I want to learn something about photography so that I can take pictures of my family. Just bought 5D3. I wonder if we can start. How long will this camera last?

5d3 is a Quan Huafu SLR model recently launched by Canon. It's not cheap, and the performance is certainly not good. This is a very good machine. Not to mention getting started, long-term use and professional photography are no problem.

As for how long it can last, it depends on your own needs. Generally speaking, it will not be out of date after 5 or 6 years. If the function and performance can still meet your needs, you can continue to use it. Until you feel that some functions and performance can't meet your needs in shooting, and the performance of the newly launched model can meet, replace the equipment if funds allow.
