1, the first point of jewelry shooting: jewelry is small, avoid direct light. Direct light is hard, the projection is obvious, and it is easy to make the exposure transition of the object. Generally, the soft light box is used for soft light, which can well reflect the texture, avoid other messy environments from reflecting on the photographed items, and better show the transition between light and dark on jade.

First of all, jade should be placed in a suitable background, and then how to use it will be considered. If the jadeites are arranged with a light background, the colors will be close to each other, which is not conducive to highlighting the outline. When the details are marked with strong light, a projection will be left on the light background, which will interfere with the reproduction of the jadeite outline. Therefore, most jade articles should be set off with a deep background color, such as dark gray, dark brown or dark green. That is, you can set off the outline of jade without worrying about the projection on the background.

B, fix the jade on the sulfuric acid paper with adhesive tape, then erect the sulfuric acid paper, polish it and shoot it. The advantage of this is that the sulfuric acid paper has good light transmittance, which can make the jade stand upright without affecting the light distribution effect of the jade. Generally, this method will be used when you need to matting in the later stage. It should be noted that the sulfuric acid paper needs to be fixed, and it is best not to have wind, otherwise the jade will be easily broken.

C. For jadeite that is difficult to stand on the table and needs to be photographed at one time. We can put it on transparent glass and shoot it from the top. Put the background paper to be used under the glass in parallel to illuminate the jade, and pay attention to avoid and eliminate the reflection of the glass. Generally, it is done by adjusting the angle of light, and a polarizer cannot be used, otherwise the light on the jade will also be affected.

Third, according to the characteristics of jade, put it in a suitable background, put it away, and then start thinking about how to use it. The shooting of jade articles mainly shows the patterns or patterns on jade articles through the action of light, and also shows the overall shape, color and texture of the same jade article. Different types of jade articles have different principles and requirements for lighting, so it is necessary to observe the external characteristics of jade articles first, and then carry out lighting according to specific conditions. Semi-transparent jade The surface of semi-transparent jade has many decorative patterns of bas-relief or concave carving. When using the light method, we should give up the pursuit of clarity and focus on the description of delicate patterns. The height and distance of the lamp will affect the pattern reproduction. Once the projection angle is misplaced, the pattern will not appear. In practice, we can use the principle that the incident angle of light is equal to the reflection angle, so that the illumination direction is symmetrical with the camera shooting direction. When shooting from a certain angle, the decoration will be reflected in the photo together with the decorative lines. Legend has it that the decoration on the jade surface is clearly displayed by using the principle of light reflection.

When shooting arc-shaped jade objects such as jade wall and Yuhuan, the emphasis is also on the decorative content. In order to prevent artifacts from deforming, they are usually placed at an angle perpendicular to the camera. After using a single lamp as the basic lighting and explaining the shape and background effect of the object, it is necessary to add a small spotlight with the same angle as the photo lens, so that the light can be vertically projected on the jade surface. At this time, if you look through the camera's viewfinder, the relief pattern you want to emphasize will come out vividly, and both geometric patterns and animal faces will be clear at a glance.

Fourth, you can shoot jade without professional lighting. For the case that there is no professional flash at home, it is also a good way to shoot jade with household lights or natural light. Here's how to shoot with these two light sources.

Daylighting: Jade is generally small, and there are many small pieces around 10 cm. It is enough to have two lights for lighting, and the light color needs white. If not, you need to adjust the white balance of the camera to restore the true color. In terms of function distribution, a soft paper lamp is used as the basic lighting of modeling and background, and a small spotlight is used as the description of its local pattern, which makes the surface produce high light spots. If a single lamp and reflector are used, the lighting requirements can be fully met. Therefore, it is best to use less lamps, and the light should be mainly soft, but the spotlight that produces high light is essential, and its sharp light can make the finishing touch on the portrayal of the most essential part of jade. Don't use the flash that comes with the camera, it will overexpose the photo and the shadow of jade will be too heavy. Natural light, if there is no light, the easiest way is to use outdoor natural light from 8 am to 10 and from 4 pm to 5 pm, but avoid direct sunlight and shoot in the shadow. The light ratio between the bright part and the dark part of jade should not be too large, so as not to lose the level of detail and appear very ugly shadows. Fill the side of jade with a reflector or a few sheets of white paper, and at the same time achieve the purpose of eliminating projection.

Tips When ordinary photographers use natural light and ordinary lighting equipment to shoot jade articles, they must make full use of the surrounding light-transmitting and reflective materials to change the light quality.
