The Creation Process of Vietnam War Trilogy

When it comes to the birth of these three films, we have to mention Si Tong's teaching experience in Vietnam. After studying at Yale University for only one year, Si Tong went to Vietnam to "teach", where he came into contact with beautiful Vietnam before the formal intervention of the United States. After working as a teacher in the countryside for a year, Si Tong returned to the United States via Mexico.

Soon after, in 1967, Si Tong returned to his familiar Vietnam, but this time he didn't come to teach, but because of the war. Two totally different trips to Vietnam also deeply branded this poor and beautiful country as Si Tong, and his later "Vietnam War Trilogy" became a masterpiece that others could not copy and surpass.

Si Tong started his own systematic research stage after the Vietnam War. Under the guidance of his teacher martin scorsese, he entered the film circle as a photographer. Si Tong directed his first film, and then put his familiar Vietnam War on the screen, which was the birth of Pai. The film won four Oscars, and more importantly, it caused great controversy because of its biased angle and box office.

In the case of poor response from El Salvador (1986), Wall Street (1987) and talk show (1988), Oliver Si Tong released Born on July 4th in the Vietnam War trilogy on 1989. With the nomination of 65,438+04 Film Festival and the award of 65,438+04, Oliver Si Tong established his position as a first-class director in Hollywood, and made his clear views on politics and war his own personal label.

The little golden statuette gave Si Tong unlimited creative space and finished the ending of the Vietnam War trilogy "Heaven and Earth" in 1993.
