How to shoot a rainbow

It is better to shoot the rainbow background in dark color. For blue sky, dark clouds, tall pine trees and cliffs, you can darken the sky with a polarizer to reduce some reflections, so that the rainbow will be more obvious. The rainbow appears for a short time, so hurry up when shooting. When shooting a composition, you should combine the scenery or people. Otherwise, a single rainbow appears on the screen, which is monotonous, unsightly and without artistic conception, and even can only be attributed to information films.

Exposure is like shooting a sunset, so that the rainbow we shoot can have saturated colors. If you trust the exposure meter too much, the color saturation will be weakened, so you should adjust the first aperture or shutter speed to reduce the exposure. If the sky behind the rainbow is dark (which happens from time to time), you should narrow the aperture by half a step. Of course, the exposure required for rainbows may be different in different regions and under different weather conditions. When shooting with a digital camera, you can adjust the exposure combination at any time.

In composition, you can try to use lenses with various focal lengths. For example, a 16 mm lens can display a complete rainbow, and a 200 mm lens can shoot one end of the rainbow intersecting vertically with the ground. Any zoom lens can easily change various compositions.
