Qin-Jin Journey 7: North Terrace in Changcheng Town, Huangtupo, Northern Shaanxi

Starting from Gankun Bay in Laoniuwan Village, Shanxi Province, the bus goes south along the Yellow River, then turns back and crosses the Yellow River to the west. From here, all the way through the loess high slope. After a 6-hour trek, I finally arrived at Beitai, Yulin Town, northern Shaanxi.

Known as "one of the three wonders of the Great Wall of China, Zhenbeitai (starting from Shanhaiguan in the east, reaching Zhenbeitai in the middle and Jiayuguan in the west)" has a long history. Some people even compare the Badaling Great Wall in Beijing with Zhenbeitai in Shaanxi, and its historical, humanistic and artistic value is self-evident.

In my opinion, saying that she is the Great Wall of Ming Dynasty seems a bit misnomer. To be exact, it should be the Great Wall of Ming Dynasty rebuilt on the basis of Qin Changcheng. As a result, wandering around the urn of Zhenbeitai seems to have a deep sense of antiquity, which makes people miss it for a long time. After all, both the Qin Dynasty and the Ming Dynasty have a history of more than 1000 years.

Judging from the historical background of the construction of the Great Wall in Ming Dynasty, the construction of Zhenbeitai seems to have lost part of the defensive function of the Great Wall. It is not difficult to see from the name of the city wall "Kuanmiya" that the main purpose of its construction is to deter Mongolians in Mobei area. This is the urban management of border trade.

Hanging around in the urn and measuring the footprints left by our ancestors with our feet are also deeply moving. Climbing the stairs, the scenery outside the beacon tower changes with different climbing angles. With the continuous rise, people's emotions are getting more and more excited. A corner of the city is full of gongs and drums, and various areas in the castle also reproduce the living environment of the ancients, which is amazing.

Didn't you say that "you are not a hero until you reach the Great Wall"? There is indeed a sense of heroism at the top. The first thing to do when visiting Zhenbeitai is to climb high and look far and release homesickness. Secondly, it is to explore the cultural relics of beacon towers and watch the cultural and artistic treasures of Chinese ancestors.

Climb to the top of the north tower of the town, and look around, the mountains and rivers are all in the bag. Because of the north, from a distance, although the nostalgic scenery full of long yellow sand or grass and flowers has disappeared, things have changed, and the green of Ma Pingchuan is also very pleasant at the moment. Looking back at Yulin city in the south, it is another scene, and a modern county has sprung up. As if admiring the wisdom and rise of the Chinese nation.

I quickly turned to Zhenbeitai and looked forward to the next scenic spot "Hongshixia". Sing a poem as a souvenir:

Beitai, Yulin Town, northern Shaanxi, guards the palace gate halberd.

Riding alone on the balcony with a smile, the golden horse turned into Egypt.

Looking at the sky at the head of the city, willow branches are planted in the north of the desert.

When the sun is shining, horses roll in.
