Fisherman's photographic works
The largest seaport city in Kerala on the southwest coast of India, 1503 was occupied by Portugal. It was the first European colony in the Indian subcontinent and was later occupied by Dutch and British colonists. Those buildings that combine medieval Portuguese, Dutch and English rural styles give people the illusion of being in a small European town.
In the evening, we arrived at the brenton Dock Hotel in Cochinburg and were greeted by candlelight dinner.
Exquisite tableware, exquisite dishes, attractive waiters and diners, everything is better than expected.
I fell in love with it at first sight when I first arrived in Cochin.
The hotel was converted from Victoria Shipyard and located in Cochin Port.
The lobby and courtyard are sunny and quiet.
The room faces the sea,/kloc-an old house with a history of over 0/00 years. Furniture and furnishings exude old-fashioned elegance.
The bathroom is spacious and tidy, and all kinds of toiletries are available.
Next to the French window, there is a small mini-bar, different flavors of Indian black tea, making a cup of tea, reading a book or watching the ferry. It is not hypocritical to sigh that the years are quiet during this holiday.
Breakfast restaurant, the same elegant atmosphere.
One menu for each person, one pair of meals for the waiter, and western-style set meals and Indian meals to choose from. Sitting in the corner by the window, the window is blue and warm and bright.
After breakfast, I went out for a stroll and found that there were too many hotels and restaurants with good quality in the streets of Cochin, all of which were opened in colonial-style century-old buildings.
Lunch at Zandari Harbor Hotel.
The dining table is located by the sea.
Steaks and desserts with invincible sea views and Indian spices have a unique flavor.
When I went to Cochin Club for dinner, I met some handsome men from China who worked in Cochin. I took the initiative to come and say hello, knowing that there was Chinese food here, and ordered some China specialties such as steamed stuffed bun, kung pao chicken, shredded pork with fish flavor and fried rice. I didn't expect the taste to be authentic, and we swept it away.
Speaking of it, Jiaotoe and China have a long history. Next to my hotel is Cochin's iconic scenic spot-China Fishing Net. When Zheng He went to the Western Ocean, he brought Chinese fishing nets to his toes, which have been used by local people ever since.
The results of fishermen's fishing are sold locally at roadside stalls, which has become a unique scenery in Cochin.
Passing by every fish stall, the stall owner will pick up the fresh fish in his hand and show it to us, and cooperate with the photo, which is quite enthusiastic.
Take a walk along the coastline of the Arabian Sea, where the mayor is long and the scenery is charming.
Santa Cruz Cathedral, not far from Chinese fishing nets, is another famous landmark in Cochin. It was founded by the Portuguese in the16th century and is one of the most exquisite churches in India.
The vault inside the church is made of all-wood structure, and the relief paintings are retro and gorgeous.
Two towering Gothic minarets stand tall like postcards.
Cochin is as famous as Santa Cruz Catholic Church. St Francis Church is the oldest church built by Europeans in India, with small scale and simple and elegant interior decoration. Portuguese explorer vasco da gama died in Cochin in 1524, was buried here in 14, and then moved back to Lisbon. now
The policeman patrolling outside the church stood in the street coolly and immediately showed a friendly smile when he saw our camera.
Walking on the streets of Cochin, you will meet lovely locals from time to time, regardless of gender, age and age, who are very photogenic and willing to be photographed.
Whether he is a photographer or not, Ke Qin has his own beauty mode. He shoots large films and can spend half a year in a circle of friends.
Cochin is also an eclectic cultural ancient city. It used to be the spice trade center of India. During the great voyage, spices from the east and peppers, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and turmeric rich in Kerala were continuously transported to Europe from here.
Today, Cochin's commercial street is still full of spice shops.
In Cochin, we also watched a special performance by Katakali. In Hindi, "kata" means story and "Kari" means performance.
This traditional religious dance originated in Kerala, with colorful makeup and rich facial expressions, will be reminiscent of China's Peking Opera. The difference is that there are more pantomime elements in Katakali dance, and the plot is interpreted by the actor's eyes, expressions and subtle movements of his fingers, which is vivid and joyful.
Now that I think about it, it is still very memorable.
Tips:
1. Flight selection to India
At present, there are not many direct flights from mainland cities to India. I take Cathay Pacific and Dragonair business class, transfer in Hong Kong, go to Wuhan-Hong Kong-Delhi and return to Chennai-Hong Kong-Wuhan. It takes three and a half hours to transfer from New Delhi to Cochin.
Cathay Pacific has six direct flights from Hong Kong to India, namely Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Kolkata. Starting from 23 cities in the mainland, Cathay Pacific and Dragonair can fly to Hong Kong to transfer to India. When you leave, you can get a transfer boarding pass, and your luggage will go directly to your final destination without going through any formalities in Hong Kong.
According to Cathay Pacific's latest baggage policy, all cabin passengers can get 10 kg of checked baggage. That is, economy class passengers can check up to two pieces of luggage with a total weight of 30 kg; Business class passengers can check up to two pieces of luggage with a total weight of 40 kg; First-class passengers can check up to three pieces of luggage with a total weight of 50 kilograms.
