Provisions of national defense laws and regulations

1. China's national defense laws and regulations give citizens the national defense obligations mainly in the following six aspects:

(1) Fulfilling military service obligations

Military service obligation is the most important national defense obligation of citizens. It requires citizens to serve in the army or assume military responsibilities outside the army in accordance with national laws and regulations.

Article 55 of our Constitution stipulates: "It is the sacred duty of the people of China and citizens of every country to defend the motherland and resist aggression. It is the glorious duty of the people and citizens of China to perform military service in accordance with the law and join militia organizations. "

Article 3 of China's military service law stipulates: "China people and China citizens, regardless of nationality, race, occupation, family background, religious belief and education level, have the obligation to perform military service in accordance with the provisions of this law." (6) Obligation to support and assist national defense activities.

Article 53 of the National Defense Law stipulates: "Citizens and organizations should support national defense construction and provide convenient conditions or other assistance for military training, combat readiness and defensive operations of the armed forces."

When citizens perform their obligations of supporting and assisting national defense activities, they should correctly understand the significance of national defense activities, clarify the strategic position and role of national defense, and constantly improve their consciousness of fulfilling their national defense obligations;

Correctly handle the relationship between national security interests and personal interests.
