Introduction of Datong Yu He Bridge

April 1 1 The Yu He Bridge, which spans the Yu He River in Datong and connects the new city and the old city of Datong, was closed on April 8, and the pile foundation construction is currently under way. This bridge with a total length of 1.200m not only adopts the antique architectural style combining Chinese and western styles, but also transforms the old bridge with a length of less than 6.5m into a part of a pedestrian mall, and builds the first "covered bridge" in our province.

Located at the east 100 meter of Yunzhong Shopping Mall in Dongguan, the prosperous business district of Datong City, it is the traffic artery of Datong City in and out of Yanggao, Tianzhen and Hebei Province. The newly-built Yu He Bridge starts from Jinniu Turntable in Yunzhong Mall in the west and ends at Yu He East Road in the east. Including the approach bridge, it has a total length of 1200m and a width of 50m, of which the river crossing part is 688m. According to reports, the new bridge was built 6.5 meters above the old bridge and is a 6-span arc arch bridge. According to the span of the bridge, the corresponding lighthouse-shaped antique pier is built. In the meantime, there are both European-style component configurations and carvings and paintings of antique buildings in China, and the overall effect stretches the atmosphere. While the new bridge is being built, the old Yu He Bridge under it will be reconstructed synchronously, leaving a pedestrian passage with a width of13m in the middle and commercial shops on both sides, which will become a part of the future pedestrian mall, forming a "bridge-wrapped bridge" effect.
