Qilinxia Grand Canyon is located in Ding Jie County, Xigaze Prefecture, Tibet, at the northern foot of the Himalayas and the southeast edge of Ding Jie Wetland. Its uniqueness lies in that it suddenly breaks off from the original flat land, and there are towering sand columns in the huge trench, which are arranged in groups and have different shapes and are spectacular.
Drive from Shigatse, take G3 18 to Gamba County, and then take the nearest line 2 19 along the border. The journey took nearly 3.5 hours and 200 kilometers, and reached a Tibetan village called Kimura. This is the entrance of Qilin Gorge, and then take Panshan Road, 10 km, and the originally flat ground suddenly sinks. The canyon is about15km long,100-200m wide and 200m deep. In the canyon, soil forests are mushrooming, rocks are towering into the clouds, and Wan Ren stands on the wall, which is a wonder of nature.
Standing on the edge of the canyon, I really feel so small that I can't help but sigh the power of time and running water. This spectacle, located at the northern foot of the Himalayas, has lost its original appearance after tens of millions of years of glacial snow erosion. In this unique form, the columnar terrain shaped by peculiar soil deposition is hidden in the depths of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. If it is not near it, it is really difficult for people to find it. Although you can't get close to touch, the existence of different charms is deeply imprinted in your mind.
This grand canyon running through the north and south is like a ground fissure in the flood era, tearing from the northern foot of the Himalayas to the Ding Jie wetland. Its career has witnessed the power of time and running water. Every July and August, the melting snow in the Himalayas gathers into rivers. After hundreds of thousands of years of scouring and cutting, "unloading cracks" appeared on its slope, and the river water eroded along these cracks, forming this grand canyon and various canyon soil forests.
It is tightly wrapped by the Ding Jie Wetland at the northern foot of the Himalayas and becomes a secret and mysterious place. The earth pillar standing in the canyon is the real legend here. They struggle to grow at the bottom of the valley, line up, hold their heads high, or be seriously independent, or in rows, which is a daunting momentum of contempt for heaven and earth.
There are similar soil forest landscapes in Yuanmou, Yunnan, China, and Zhada, Tibet, but they are all basin-developed, and Qilin Gorge is a valley washed by snow and water on the plateau for hundreds of thousands of years, which is rare in the world and little known. In recent years, it has only been inadvertently discovered by self-driving enthusiasts.
The soil forests here are varied and interesting. Many earth pillars on the cliff of the canyon, like the carving of craftsmen's knives, have formed countless lifelike arhats. They are absorbed and silent, as if in meditation. It is also like a three-dimensional Thangka, hidden under the snow-capped mountains, which constitutes the secret realm on this snowy plateau.
Everyone who comes here is amazed, and all kinds of soil forests seem to make people enter another planet. "This scene is only because of the existence of' aliens'. How many times have you heard of it?" Some of the soil forests here are painted as swords, pointing directly at the sky; Some are as brave as warriors and ready to go; Some are like graceful girls, looking forward to it; Wonderful as Tianmen, reaching heaven in one step ... colorful and amazing.
In Qilin Gorge, every soil forest is a story. Every soil forest is like a weather-beaten old man. They are all like wise men with souls, telling us old stories. And this huge canyon, like a huge temple, spreads the great Sanskrit and saves everyone who is lost.
At the bottom of the canyon, there is a river in July and August every year, which is the melting snow water in the Himalayas. We want to go deep into the bottom of the valley, but there is no way in the valley and we have to give up. From the aerial camera lens, this canyon extends from the northern foot of the Himalayas to the south, from deep to shallow, and finally disappears without a trace, just like a gray line of grass snake on the wetland grassland in Ding Jie.
In this remote place, the locals said that there was a war. This peak forest must be a natural barrier. If you look at it from a distance, you will find it is a canyon. This is a good place to hide. At the same time, the difficulty of fighting in such a place can be imagined. It is said that someone has found fragments of ancient armor here. Imagine what kind of people are fighting here.
When the canyon spread and disappeared in the Ding Jie wetland, the meltwater of the snow-capped mountains flowed down from the valley bottom, forming an alluvial fan wetland, creating an excellent living place on the barren plateau. At this time, a typical Tibetan village appeared. This is Mu Village, surrounded by rape flowers, forming a beautiful oil painting with blue sky and white clouds and snow-capped mountains.
Kimura is a Tibetan village. The villagers believe that Qilin Gorge has a mysterious power, which can bring them peace and courage. Here, the flags are fluttering, the white clouds are patches, and it is quiet and peaceful. According to the local people, the traffic in the scenic spot was inconvenient a long time ago, and few people could enjoy it. Later, a Jiangsu boss who was traveling in Tibet invested 20 million yuan to build roads and plank roads, which made this amazing landscape more well known and promoted the income of villagers as a poverty alleviation project.
Hint: Qilin Gorge is located in Kimura, Qiongzi Township, Ding Jie County, Shigatse Prefecture, Tibet, at the border between Nepal and India. Standing on the observation deck of the scenic spot, you can get a close look at Zhangjiafeng, the third peak in the world.
1. To drive to Qilin Gorge Scenic Area, you need to apply for Xigaze Border Guard Certificate. If you join a tour group, the travel agency will apply for a border defense certificate in Lhasa.

Transportation:
It belongs to Mount Everest Reserve, 200 kilometers away from Shigatse, 3.5 hours by car and 260 kilometers away from Mount Everest Base Camp. It is 45km away from Gamba County and 85km away from Ding Jie County.
From Kimura to Qilinxia 10 km, there is a newly built poverty alleviation highway. However, in order to protect the environment, self-driving cars cannot enter the scenic spot, and they need to transfer to the scenic spot bus.
Such a vast natural scenery is not a special effect in the movie. Let's feel its uniqueness. Pay attention to street lamp photography and see the world together.
