This is not the same as a script. Japanese TV animation is usually adapted from comics, novels or games. Comic writers and animators are usually different (there are exceptions, such as some works by Miyazaki Hayao, and Genax often makes original animations by himself), so the word "original" comes into being. Refers to the author of the original comic book/novel. For example, the original work of cowboy BEBOP is Hajime Yatate. (About Hajime Yatate, friends who have seen "General Dream" should know this allusion, but it seems that there are still many people who don't know it at present. I will introduce it later. )

Production: usually refers to the company responsible for drawing animation, because Japanese animation usually needs the cooperation of n departments/companies, and the division of labor is clear, which is a bit like assembly line operation. This word also needs everyone's attention. The production level of an animation is often influenced by the production unit. Sometimes even looking at the name of the animation company can tell whether this film is worth collecting.

Character setting = role setting

Refers to the design of characters' modeling and clothing style in animation. Subsequent painters are required to draw the physical features, facial features, eyes and expressions of the characters clearly. You should also design a picture of the same character from several different angles. Unless otherwise specified, design drafts are generally clean line drafts without shadows. There is no fixed procedure for character setting, but they all have the same element, that is, to explain the characteristics of the role. )

Art Director

Simply put, it is responsible for the quality of the picture, including color matching, clothing, makeup and so on. That is to say, make the picture beautiful and try to meet the director's creative requirements visually.
