Li's introduction

Li, born in Shanghai, 1962, began to learn painting and paper-cutting with his father at the age of 6. He is gifted in artistic creation, especially under the careful guidance of Professor Lin, and his works of art are fruitful. In the course of more than 40 years of art, more than 500 works have been exhibited and collected in major newspapers and magazines and various art exhibitions at home and abroad. Among them are the Netherlands-China Friendship Association, Shanghai Art Museum Collection Committee, China Paper-cut Museum, Belgian Baihegao Gallery, American Starbucks Enterprise Management Co., Ltd., Austrian charity "Licht ins Dunkel" and other major institutions at home and abroad.

As a contemporary heavy-colored painter and a master of Shanghai-style paper-cutting, Li has always inspired himself with innovative spirit and made remarkable achievements in art. With a keen sense of life, he described people and events in Shanghai from different artistic angles, embodied the open and inclusive spirit of Shanghai city with a unique heavy color style, and expressed his pursuit of a better life. In terms of techniques, he combined the artistic conception of China's meticulous painting with the perspective and light sense of western painting, and blended Chinese and western painting to innovate the works of art that originated from life and were higher than life, forming a distinctive personal style. His works not only show the world the historical and cultural value of Shanghai, but also inject new vitality into contemporary Shanghai-style art, so he is praised by the media as "Mr. Shikumen of Shanghai".

At the same time, he is currently a member of Shanghai Federation of Literary and Art Circles, a member of Shanghai Huangpu District Political Consultative Conference, a member of Shanghai Artists Association, a vice chairman of China Paper-cut Art Committee and a vice chairman of Shanghai Folk Writers Association. As an artistic representative of Tianzifang, a landmark of Shanghai's creative industry, he actively participated in the development of Shanghai's cultural undertakings and devoted himself to the protection and inheritance of Shanghai's Shikumen culture.
