Litchi plant characteristics

Litchi is a plant belonging to the genus Litchi of Sapindaceae, also known as Danli and Litchi. Common litchi varieties include March Red, Round Branch, Feizixiao and so on. It is also cultivated in Southeast Asia and introduced to Africa, America and Oceania. It is mainly produced in China, Guangdong, Fujian, Guangxi, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou and Taiwan Province provinces.

Litchi appearance

Litchi bark is gray-black, and its branchlets are cylindrical with many white lenticels. Leaflets 2 ~ 3 pairs, lanceolate and sharp at the top. When flowering, the inflorescence is terminal, wide and slender, the fruit is nearly spherical and the shell is cracked. When ripe, it will generally turn dark red to bright red, and the pulp is white.
