David suchet's Personal Life

Suchet's brother, John Suchet, is the news anchor of Britain's "Five o'clock News". His grandfather James Xie Jia was a photographer. Xie Jia's family, formerly known as Judge, is a Russian Jew. Suchet's grandparents were Jews in Eastern Europe. He and his grandfather isidore Schuchet (evolved from Hebrew shochet, meaning "Jewish butcher") lived in Cretinga (present-day Lithuania), then fled to Memmel, Prussia, changed their surnames, changed their names to Suchet according to Germanic Suchedowitz, and moved to Cape Town, South Africa.

Suchet likes photography in his life. His grandfather James Xie Jia was a famous photographer in Fleet Street. He was a photographer for Edward VIII, Mrs Simpson, Louis Blériot and The Surrounding of Sydney Street. My grandfather gave Suchet a Kodak camera when he was a child, which aroused his interest in photography. Suchet also learned to play clarinet from Maris Colin, and he can also play drums.

He once affectionately called the fat coat he wore when he played hercule poirot "armadillo skin".

Now he has lived in Pina, a suburb of London, for many years. 1972, Su Xie first met his later wife, Sheila Phyllis, at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry. They met when they were working there. He said that he fell in love with her at first sight and it took him some time to persuade her to go out for dinner with him. They got married on June 30th, 1976. Now their son Robert is serving in the Royal Marine Corps, and their daughter Catherine has become a physical therapist.
