Who has the investigation report of Wuxi students?
On the one hand, they are not independent yet, and their parents support them to finish their studies. On the other hand, their special age group gives them a strong desire to consume. Faced with this contradiction, what should college students do in Wuxi? How much do they spend every year? Where did all the money go? This issue focuses on the consumption of college students in Wuxi.
Rich kids: famous brands show their love with roses.
Case study of high consumption of college students in Wuxi
Jackie Li
Campus is also a small society, because some people have poor fathers and some have rich fathers, and the consumption level of college students in the same classroom varies greatly.
The reporter learned in an interview with a tobacco-based university that some college students' consumption behavior is "generous", and the courage to dare to spend and be willing to spend makes it difficult for many wage earners to reach.
A bunch of flowers: 999 roses
On a Sunday night in the autumn of 2002, with the help of his classmates, Li, a student of Jiangsu Technology and Business University, sent 999 roses bought with 600 yuan money to the school cafeteria. Cui, his girlfriend who was eating, was already in tears when she received this romantic gift. Hundreds of students who are eating in the restaurant witnessed this "sacred" moment. This incident caused a great sensation in the whole school.
Li and Cui met by chance at a party, and Cui fell in love with Li at first sight. In order to get Li's favor, Cui began to pursue Li in an almost "crazy" way. Under the strong offensive, Cui finally got his wish and became a college student couple with Li. Seeing that students around him often receive flowers from their boyfriends, they often "inadvertently" say to Li that "so-and-so has received another bouquet of flowers" and "so-and-so has sent a beautiful rose" ... Under Cui's hint, the affectionate Li is determined to make one heart and soul romantic for his girlfriend.
Li discussed with his classmates and friends that if he wanted to send it, he would send a "special offer". In the end, Li accepted the proposal of "sending 999 roses", and he deliberately chose the place to send flowers in a crowded restaurant.
B A pair of shoes: 1400 yuan.
The reporter learned in the interview that students majoring in physical education in various universities are absolutely fashionable on campus. They eat nutritious food and wear brand-name clothes, which is likely to lead the fashion in colleges and universities.
Bai, a college student majoring in physical education, listed his daily nutritious meal list for reporters: breakfast, a glass of milk, a fruit (apple) and a shortcake; Lunch, a scrambled egg, a green vegetable and two bowls of rice; For dinner, choose one piece of braised pork, one piece of beef and chicken, one piece of vegetables and two bowls of rice. Rice alone costs 15 a day-20 yuan.
Xiao Bai said that his classmates are basically at such a consumption level. Almost all college students majoring in physical education are very particular about wearing clothes, and generally choose brand-name clothes such as Nike, Adidas and Li Ning. Xiao Bai pointed to the shoes on his feet and said, "Look, my shoes are humble, and they are more than 600!" " Xiaobai told reporters that there is a classmate in their class who spends several thousand yuan on each suit. He and this classmate bought a pair of Nike sports shoes, 1400 yuan.
C a mobile phone: 3,400 yuan
"Mobile phone, computer and MP3" are the three most popular things among college students at present. At present, 50% of the students in Tobacco University have mobile phones, and some have two or more.
In a communication mall in the city, Ms. Jiang, who sells mobile phones, told reporters that many college students who came to buy mobile phones were "dismissive" of the more practical and lower-priced mobile phones she recommended, preferring color screens, chords, MMS, surfing the Internet and mobile phones with cameras. Miss Chen said: "In fact, college students are pure consumers. It is enough to have a mobile phone that can make phone calls and send text messages. There is no need to pursue too many fancy functions. "
Chen Mou, a junior in Jiangsu Institute of Technology and Business, has two mobile phones, one is mobile and the other is Unicom. He explained that this is to "co-ordinate the use and save telephone charges". Li from the Department of Foreign Languages of Wuxi University told the reporter that a boy in his class changed six mobile phones from blue screen to color screen and from color screen to one with camera function. He just changed another mobile phone recently, which is worth 3400 yuan.
D a set of beautiful women: 2500 yuan
In the interview, the reporter didn't hear that there are college students in Tobacco University who have plastic surgery for beauty, but I learned that many female college students are keen on beauty and regard beauty as a kind of "fashion". According to the practitioner of a beauty salon near Wuxi University, because beauty is different from plastic surgery, it can take good care of the body without skin pain, so it is favored by a considerable number of college students.
A senior girl from Wuxi University said that four of her classmates go to beauty salons for skin care and beauty all the year round, and the cost of their beauty package is between1000-2,500 yuan, which is just the cost of "slapping". If you need to do hairdressing, weight loss and other projects, you need extra money. According to this girl, one of her classmates spends about 300-400 yuan on all kinds of cosmetics every month, from facial cleanser to facial mask to various eye shadows and lip gloss, and everything is a brand.
The reporter also learned that college students who spend money in beauty salons, in addition to skin care, also have freckle and acne, and also have breast enhancement.
Most of these high-spending college students are well-off, their parents are generally high-income class, and some are private owners. Of course, there are also some "capable people" on campus who can earn money and spend money by working and starting businesses, but such students are only a very rare phenomenon in Wuxi universities.
Pay attention to the situation of poor college students in Wuxi
Poor students: Dress and eat for two yuan a day.
At present, while some college students enjoy a high-consumption life at will, there is another group. I am a college student on campus, and I am a part-time job outside campus. They can only maintain a minimum standard of living.
● Liu: I hope the school will not drive me home!
Liu is a junior in the School of Humanities, Wuxi University. According to her classmates, Liu leads a very hard life. Every day, she only has 2 yuan for living expenses and various meals such as steamed bread and pies. When I met Liu, I didn't realize that she was a poor student at all. Her plain clothes are clean, and she looks very energetic with her croissants. She is also very cheerful when she talks to me.
Father sells cattle to raise tuition.
In the interview, the reporter learned that Liu grew up in a backward mountain village in Gaotang County, Liaocheng. When she passed the college entrance examination and was admitted to Wuxi University in the autumn of 2002, her family was already gloomy: her sister was forced to drop out of school because she could not afford the tuition; Grandma who suffered from cancer for more than two years passed away, leaving their family with a lot of debts; Grandpa is over 70 years old. Although he is still healthy, he can't work too much. Mother has been ill and can only do some housework; My sister and brother are both sophomores; The burden of the whole family falls on his father Liu, who manages 1 1 mu of land. In order to enable children to study, Liu also goes out to work or do some small business during the slack season.
In order to pay for Liu's tuition, Liu not only borrowed money from relatives and friends at home, but also sold a farm cow at home. Liu said: "In 2002, I came to Wuxi with a little bitterness. The moment I stepped into the university gate, I told myself in my heart,' I must grow up, everything is my own!' " "
Living expenses, two yuan a day.
While others are excited about living a carefree life, Liu is worried about the high tuition and living expenses for four years. The pressure of life always makes her breathless.
"The children of poor families have long been in charge." Liu soon learned to calculate carefully and spend every penny in his hand carefully. Eat, three fried dough sticks in the morning, a bowl of porridge, and a 50-cent pie at noon and evening. In this way, 2 yuan a day can fill the stomach; Clothes, unless you have to buy them, are controlled within 40 yuan. She only has two sets of clothes to change all the year round; There is hardly any cosmetics. There is only a bar of soap and a bottle of little nurse in her washbasin. Liu said humorously, "This saves trouble and money." Liu's monthly expenses are basically controlled at around 100 yuan, and the living expenses per semester are determined not to exceed that of 800 yuan. The students around, even those from rural areas, spend almost no less than 1500 yuan per semester. As for children in the city, 600 yuan a month is generally considered to be "stretched".
Poverty is not terrible.
Liu is well aware of the hardships of his parents and the pressure of life, and he also cherishes this hard-won learning opportunity.
Liu said that she never envied the rich and never blamed her parents, because she felt that parents could bring themselves into this world and bring them up, which was a debt that would never be repaid. She said: "In fact, poverty is not terrible, the key is what kind of mentality to face it."
Weekends and holidays are the time for most college students to rest and relax, but when others go shopping, watch movies or travel, Liu is almost too tired to get out of bed every day, either doing market research in the scorching sun or braving the cold wind to survive, or taking the pain of carsickness as a tutor.
"I hope the school won't drive me home!"
Liu spent his freshman year and sophomore year under great pressure. She said that optimism is her biggest gain in the past two years. In the past two years, she studied hard, worked hard, actively participated in various activities, won various awards, joined the club, joined the student union and served as a class cadre ... She never gave herself free time. She feels that her life is full and happy.
After entering the junior year, the more severe reality is placed in front of her and her family: one of her sister and brother was admitted to Jiangsu University and the other was admitted to Liaocheng University this year. The tuition fee for the three brothers and sisters is nearly 20 thousand yuan, which is undoubtedly a mountain for a poor peasant family!
Originally, I wanted to take the opportunity of going home during the summer vacation to tell my father that I was going to take the postgraduate entrance examination. However, seeing her father's frowning brows and worried eyes, she finally failed to say it. But to comfort my father, saying that we should find a way to pay the tuition and arrange for our younger brothers and sisters to go to school first. At the beginning of September, when she returned to Wuxi University, Liu only brought 3,000 yuan borrowed by her father, and she had to pay nearly 5,000 yuan for tuition and accommodation. Now Liu has only paid 2500 yuan for tuition. She said, "I hope the school won't drive me home!" " "
● Huang: Don't go home to save money. Ww Huang is now studying in Class 2, Grade 03, School of Chinese Language and Literature, Wuxi Normal University. She looks very thin, and her shy smile can't hide her persistence and strength.
Huang was born in Caoxi Village, a small mountain village eight or nine miles away from the county seat on the edge of Jinggangshan, Jiangxi Province. The traffic is extremely inconvenient. When Chiang Kai-shek "encircled" the Red Army, he made a bumpy dirt road. In 2003, the nearby forest farm developed trees and built this dirt road. Now it can be used by cars. Some people in the village have never even left the mountain village.
Huang is the oldest of the five brothers and sisters in the family, and the status quo of "rich family" is even worse for the already poor family. Huang's parents are farmers and eat * days a day. Because of "returning farmland to forests", only six acres of land are left in Huang's original more than ten acres. In order to make a living, Huang's parents usually do odd jobs for others. Long-term overwork made Huang's mother break down from overwork and get vertigo.
Huang hasn't bought new clothes since junior high school, but she wears old clothes worn by the daughter of one of her junior high school teachers.
Go through hardships and walk into the university gate.
Most people of Huang's age go out to work at the age of 14 or 15. She is the first high school student and the first college student in the mountain village. When Huang got the university admission notice, thousands of yuan of tuition fees were like a mountain on this poor family. Someone advised Huang's parents: "A girl's family will be splashed with water if she marries someone in the future. What school will she go to? " Although Huang's parents agreed to let him go to college, he had no money to pay the tuition. Fortunately, Huang got 5000 yuan sponsored by Zhejiang Liuhe Sheng Real Estate Development Company, and a relative in Tianjin gave her 1000 yuan, which was successfully reported to Wuxi Normal University.
After going to college, in order to save every penny, she seldom eats a dish every week. Every meal is basically steamed bread with pickles. A month's food expenses are almost sixty or seventy yuan. Huang told reporters: "I never spend money on unnecessary things, even the necessities of life are bought casually at the stall."
Have difficulty on the way to work
Huang Zi has never been back to his hometown since he went to school in Wuxi. She said that the round-trip fare is very expensive, and working in Wuxi can save some time.
Soon after his freshman year, Huang began to work to earn money. She only had two jobs at school. Over the past year, she has stood at the counter for others, steamed and sold buns for small restaurants, cleaned the contractor team, worked as a "bee" for a wedding photography shop and worked as an hourly worker in a small market near the school. She has done everything and eaten everything.
Talking about the experience of working, Huang was filled with emotion. She said that the most unforgettable thing was the "little bee" who was a wedding photographer during the summer vacation. Her main task is to attract customers and persuade them to set up a table to look at photos. It takes 70 points to pull a couple and 20 points to pull a person. At the end of the day, Huang pulled 100 people, their voices were hoarse and their legs were too tired to listen. When selling steamed stuffed buns to a small restaurant, the working time of a day actually reached 13 and a half hours; When working as an hourly worker, Huang arrived 15 minutes early, but when he wanted the shopkeeper to add 50 cents to his hourly salary, he was rejected by the shopkeeper. ...
Poor and strong, never falling, rising fast.
The adversity of life did not hinder Huang's progress, but hard training inspired her upward spirit.
Although Huang worked hard almost every day, she didn't delay her studies. Her academic performance has always been excellent, because she has always had a firm belief that she should use knowledge to change the poverty and backwardness in her hometown. At present, due to the unpaid tuition fees for the new semester, Huang is applying for a student loan from the school. (Reporter Wang Weili, Huo Lijuan, reporter Li Xiaofei)
Investigation Report on Consumption of College Students in Wuxi City
Jackie Li
① High consumption, neglecting financial management.
In order to understand the consumption situation of college students in Wuxi, from September/KLOC-0 to September 5, the reporter surveyed 1 00 college students through a random questionnaire from Jiangsu Institute of Technology and Business, and 70 questionnaires were collected.
From the summary statistics, we can see two points: first, the consumption level of college students is obviously high; Second, college students have a weak sense of financial management, and there is no corresponding concept and level of financial management. Besides tuition and accommodation, how much does a college student spend each academic year? The survey results are as follows: only 3 students spend less than 3000 yuan a year, accounting for 4.3%; 28 people with 5000-8000 yuan, accounting for 40%; 2 1 person with 3000-5000 yuan, accounting for 30%; More than 8,000 people reached 18, accounting for 25.7%, of which the most reached 20,000 yuan.
Answering "Do you have the habit of keeping accounts?" Only 1 1.4% of college students answered "yes" and 82.8% answered "no", while a small number of college students gave the answer "I don't like to remember, write down the approximate amount" and "I don't know where most of the money has been spent". Significant figures show that college students' awareness of financial management is still relatively weak, and many students overspend on their monthly consumption.
In the survey, we know that the main source of income of college students in Wuxi is family supply, accounting for 95. 16% of the surveyed population, and less than 5% of the students * have received financial support from relatives and friends, work-study programs, loans and scholarships. Answering "What will you do if you overspend this month?" For the problem, 47.47% students choose to spend the next month first, 20.22% students choose to ask their parents for money, and some choose to work and study, which shows that college students are very dependent on their parents.
(2) eating is still a big head.
According to the survey, in addition to tuition and accommodation, 64% of college students in our city spend money on meals.
In addition to on-campus eating, off-campus dining has also become an indispensable part of college students' dietary consumption. The proportion of eating in individual restaurants reached 95.7% of the total number of people surveyed every month, and the cost of eating out of school for freshmen and sophomores was significantly higher than that for juniors and seniors. According to the analysis, this may be related to the fact that freshmen and sophomores face college life alone for a short time, and their consumption is slightly irrational compared with juniors and seniors. When eating out of school, college students generally control their expenses below 80 yuan, with 20 yuan and 20-40 yuan accounting for the most.
Various forms of parties have become a focus of college students' dietary consumption. Most students think it's ok to spend money on guests, but not too often. The survey found that almost all students attend the 6- 15 class reunion every year. This part of consumption basically needs 150-600 yuan every year. The reporter learned in the survey that college students and classmates generally choose ordinary restaurants, but 2% of them choose high-end restaurants. There are various reasons for the party: getting to know each other, coming back from vacation, having a birthday, getting high marks in the exam, becoming a class cadre, getting a scholarship, etc. Everyone should treat them to a meal, otherwise it will be regarded as a lack of friendship.
From the survey of food consumption, it can be seen that snacks are the preference of female college students, and their monthly snack consumption is mostly above 50 yuan, and some even reach 300 yuan.
3 Shantou saves money and falls in love with pickles.
Love is sacred, but it also needs a strong economic foundation. Many college students told reporters that there is no free lunch in today's love, and some boys spend a lot of money on love, even at the expense of debt. "Steamed bread is pickles, save money to fall in love" and "buy flowers for your girlfriend even if you don't eat for three days" have become a creed, which can be described as "love is greater than the sky" with a popular lyric.
In the questionnaire, "Are you in love? How much do you spend on love every year? " 77% of college students admit that they have a love experience, and the money spent on love ranges from 500-3000 yuan every year.
According to the survey, college students' love spending is mainly in eating, snacks, shopping, bars and entertainment. And gift consumption is the absolute "big head" in love consumption. On holidays (Valentine's Day, Christmas, etc. ) or birthdays, special anniversaries, lovers exchange gifts, ranging from tens of yuan to hundreds or even thousands of yuan (the reporter learned in the survey that a sophomore is on his girlfriend's birthday). In the consumption of love, the most expensive one is renting a house off campus, which costs 200-400 yuan per month.
Interestingly, the traditional situation that the man pays for love has been completely broken, and there are three situations, namely, the man takes full responsibility, the man and the woman take the initiative to bear all. Girls spend even more on love than men. ④ Half of the students hold mobile phones. The survey shows that mobile phone consumption is the second largest consumption item of college students besides diet, accounting for 12.5% of the total consumption expenditure, and some students' consumption accounts for 30%-40% of the total monthly consumption.
In the 186 questionnaire made by Jiangsu Institute of Technology and Business Statistics, the reporter saw that 92 people had mobile phones. From grade one to grade four, the mobile phone holding rate is on the rise: grade one is 40%, grade two is 44.44%, grade three is 57. 1%, and grade four is 66.7%. The mobile phone holding rate of boys and girls is basically the same.
There are many kinds of mobile phone brands held by college students. Among the 92 mobile phones, there are as many as 24 brands (some brands are not specified), and the prices are generally around 1600 yuan.
According to the statistics of mobile phone charges, the average monthly mobile phone charges of college students are basically controlled in the range of 10-50 yuan, accounting for 64.5% of the surveyed population. The monthly consumption of mobile phones exceeds 2 1.5% in 50 yuan, and 5.5% exceeds 100 yuan. In the mobile phone consumption of college students, SMS consumption accounts for about 50%. Paying for fashion is to answer "What would you do if you had money left over from living expenses?" Speaking of this problem, most female college students choose to "buy clothes and surf the Internet", which shows that college students still put the pursuit of beauty in an important position of consumption.
In the survey, the reporter found that "popularity" has become the third major factor for college students to consider whether to buy a commodity after "price" and "quality". When asked, "If the economy permits, will you buy brand-name products?" 80% of the students said yes. From these two aspects, it is not difficult to reflect college students' pursuit of new ideas in hairstyle, clothing, accessories and daily necessities.
From the consumption survey, it can be seen that college students' consumption level of clothes is getting higher and higher, and the purpose of boys' buying clothes is not to buy them, but to buy them with good quality and low price; Girls always keep buying clothes, and they will buy them back as long as they like. If you don't like it, you won't wear it right away
Many college students, especially girls, attach great importance to image dressing. Complete sets of brand cosmetics have become the favorite of some girls with financial strength, and hairdressing has become another important aspect of girls' beautiful consumption. Dyeing hair, perming hair, straightening hair, nourishing hair ... Many girls are willing to pay a big price as long as they can be beautiful once. The survey results show that the number of freshmen doing hair is still small, accounting for 47.37% of the total number, and with the growth of grade, the number of people doing hair gradually increases, among which the number of people dyeing hair is mostly. The survey received enthusiastic cooperation from the students of Class 03, Class/kloc-0 and Class 2 majoring in journalism from the School of Humanities, Wuxi University and the senior students majoring in statistics from the School of Statistics, Jiangsu Technology and Business University. Thank you.
