How does Nikon D300s shoot video? How to measure light and focal length?

When shooting video, Nikon D300s can operate as follows:

1 photometry

No matter which metering mode is selected, the camera defaults to matrix metering mode.

2 focusing

First, focus on the still picture before recording. Press the AF-ON key when shooting with a tripod, and press the shutter half with a hand-held camera to focus on the subject.

Second, during the recording process, you can press the AF-ON key to focus the camera when shooting with a tripod (although the camera will not beep during the shooting process, other sounds made by the camera during the contrast detection autofocus may be recorded by the microphone); Auto focus of hand-held camera is not available, only manual focus can be used.

3 aperture and shutter

Triangular glue shooting: In aperture priority (A) and manual mode (M), the camera will shoot with the aperture selected by the still picture, and the minimum aperture for recording short films is f/16; Hand-held shooting: the camera will automatically adjust the aperture and shutter according to the brightness change of the subject.

4 exposure lock:

During recording, you can press AE-L/AF-L button to lock the exposure and use exposure compensation to make changes within the maximum range of 3 ev.

5 file size:

The maximum size of a single short film file is 2GB, the maximum length of a short film with a screen size of 1280*720 is 5 minutes, and the maximum length of other sizes is 20 minutes. The minimum length of the short film is 2 seconds.

Option screen size (pixels) Maximum time

1280 * 720 (16: 9)1280 * 720 minutes

640 * 424 (3: 2) 640 * 424 Twenty minutes

320 * 2 16(3:2)20 minutes

6 microphone

When recording, you can use an external microphone (sold separately) instead of the built-in microphone of the camera. The purpose of this is to avoid the sound emitted by the lens when the camera is focused or damped. If you don't need sound when recording, you can choose to turn off the microphone.
