From 1953 to 1995, the Fine Arts Group of Shanghai Film Studio (195-1956) and Shanghai Animation Film Studio (1957-1995) produced 136 films of puppet film. I. puppet film before the founding of the People's Republic 1. The puppet documentary "Song of Eternal Sorrow" was directed by Yu Zheguang and manipulated by You Lei and Xia Bingjun. In 1948, it was produced by Shanghai Universe Film Company. The film is based on the puppet show "Song of Eternal Sorrow", which describes the story of the joys and sorrows of Emperor Tang Ming and Yang Guifei. This play was selected by Weng Qingxing and Huang Jiaen, overseas Chinese businessmen living in the United States, and was filmed as a three-volume color documentary by the Cosmic Film Company founded by them, which was compiled into a large-scale documentary "Grand View of China", with English and French dialogues, distributed to the United States and shown abroad. During the filming process, the film was directed by film artist Tian Han. The film is based on the singing of Kunqu opera, with its characters, antique costumes and magnificent scenery, which gives people a beautiful enjoyment. In puppet film in the 195s and 196s, in July 1953, with the approval of the Film Bureau of the Ministry of Culture, the fine arts group of Shanghai Film Studio was officially expanded into an animation group and a puppet film group, and by 1956, 11 puppet film films were produced. From 1957 to 1965, Meiying made 4 films in puppet film. 1. "Little Hero" was directed by Jin Xi, directed by Wan Chaochen, designed by Yu Zheguang, photographed by Zhang Chaoqun and Zhao Kejun. In October 1953, it was filmed by Shanghai Film Art Group. The film is based on the fairy tale novel Red Cherry, which describes that Little Amand relies on the collective strength to outwit the evil wolves, so that the small and medium-sized animals in the mountain can return to a peaceful and happy life. This is China's first color puppet film, which was produced by Shanghai Film Art Group. In August, 1951, Shanghai Film Group decided to set up a color film experimental group composed of Wan Chaochen, Wan Guoqiang, Cha Ruigen, Weiyun Wu, Jinming Zhu, etc., under the guidance of Li Jingwen, a Chinese from the Soviet Union, and Su Li as the general contact person, to conduct experiments in shooting color art films. On December 3, 1951, Wan Guoqiang successfully developed the color developer "Daikemin". On December 4, the Film Bureau of the Ministry of Culture fully affirmed the experimental results. So the Shanghai Film Studio decided to officially shoot puppet film's Little Hero at the end of January, 1952. After more than a year's efforts, it was successfully filmed in October 1953. The Film Bureau of the Ministry of Culture awarded a banner to the fine arts group of Shanghai Film Studio, and awarded honorary certificates and badges to those who participated in Shoot. 2. "Magic Pen" was written by Hong Xuntao, directed by Jin Xi and You Lei, photographed by Zhang Chaoqun, and designed by Yu Zheguang, a puppet. In November 1955, it was filmed by Shanghai Film Art Group. The film story always revolves around the extraordinary fate of Ma Liang and Shen Bi. Ma Liang, a cowherd boy, is bent on learning painting, and draws with branches and charcoal all day. One night, he dreamed that a fairy gave him a magic pen, and he got what he painted. The villagers were very grateful to him for getting the cows, waterwheels and other objects he painted with magic pen. The matter was learned by the government, and the official sent someone to force Ma Liang to draw a golden mountain. Ma Liang painted oceans and sailboats around Jinshan. The greedy official took his family aboard. Ma Liang waved his magic pen and set off a storm. The sailboat soon sank. Since then, Ma Liang has been free to draw what the working people need. The film has a strong legendary color. The directors used romanticism to create the innocent and lovely artistic image of Ma Liang. In August 1956, the film won the first prize of entertainment film for children aged 8 to 12 at the Eighth Venice International Children's Film Festival in Italy, won four consecutive prizes in Syria, Yugoslavia and Poland and Canada in 1956 and won the first prize of excellent art film from 1949 to 1955 by the Ministry of Culture in 1957. 3. The screenwriter Wu Lun and Liang Yanjing, the directors Jin Xi and You Lei, the puppet designers Jin Xi and Dou Zonggan, the photographer Zhang Chaoqun and Zhong Liren, the technical director Wan Chaochen, completed the filming of Meiying in June 1958. The film is adapted from the 59th to 61st chapters of The Journey to the West, a classical novel in China. It describes that four Tang Priests and apprentices went to the Western Heaven to learn Buddhist scriptures, but were blocked by the flaming mountain. After many twists and turns, the Monkey King finally borrowed a banana fan from Princess Iron Fan and put out the fire. The film is vivid in shape, designed and produced vividly by the Monkey King, Princess Iron Fan, Niu Mowang and Pig Bajie, and was well received by the audience. The film's stunt on fire was quite successful. 4. "Lobster" was directed by Jin Xi, photographed by Zhong Liren, and designed by Dou Zonggan and Wang Changcheng. In December 1959, the filming of Meiying was completed. 5. The collective adaptation of "Dove" is directed and photographed by Chen Zhenghong, and the characters and background design are Qu Jianfang and Dou Zonggan. In June 196, the filming of Meiying was completed. By describing imperialism's opposition to painting doves of peace, the film reveals the evil plot of imperialism to play with false peace and really prepare for war. The film is like an active political satire cartoon, vivid, humorous and interesting. 6. The collective screenwriter of "Carving Ji Long" was directed by Zhang Chaoqun, Yue Lu and Wan Chaochen, with Zhang Chaoqun as photographer and Zhan Tong Xuan and Hu Ruosi as styling designers. The filming of Meiying was completed in September 1959. The film is based on the Yunnan folk tradition compiled by Ou Xiaomu. 7. The Wood Chopper Girl was directed by the creative collective according to folklore, photographed by Chen Zengfu and Zheng Peiliang, and sculpted by Zhan Tong. In December 1959, the film was completed. The film tells the story of Qing Er, a woodcutter, and her grandfather who lived in a ravine. 8. The screenwriter Jin Xi, photographer Zhong Liren, styling designer Dou Zonggan and background designer Wang Changcheng of "One Shoe", the film is adapted from Sichuan Opera of the same name, both of which are based on Pu Songling's Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio, Volume 16, Mao Dafu. 9.
