MPC, the main news center of Beijing Olympic Games, is the largest in Olympic history.

According to Sun, director of the Media Operations Department, the building complex where the main press center of the Beijing Olympic Games is located is a supporting facility of the National Convention Center, with a total construction area of 260,000 square meters. It consists of two star-rated hotels, two office buildings and buildings connecting the four buildings. The project started in May, 2005, and on April 25th, the third floor of the group building and office building B, which are MPC and connected to the bottom of the second floor above ground, was completed and accepted. The interior decoration of internal commercial facilities and the interior decoration of rented offices will continue, and will be completed by the end of May, entering the stage of testing, simulation drills and staff training.

On July 8, one month before the opening of the Olympic Games, MPC was officially opened to registered media. It runs 24 hours two weeks before the opening ceremony. The main news center of the Beijing Olympic Games is 400 meters long from north to south, three stories high and with a total construction area of 60,000 square meters. It looks like a moving giant aircraft carrier, and it will be the largest main news center in the history of the Olympic Games. During the 2008 Olympic Games, 4,400 journalists and 1200 photographers stationed on the "aircraft carrier" will form an ultra-luxurious "Olympic Reporting Fleet" to comprehensively report the grand occasion of the Beijing Olympic Games and the host style of the people of China to the whole world.
