What film does news photography usually use?
Since the end of the twentieth century, with the rapid popularization of computers in various fields, the digital age has arrived, which has brought new impacts to people's work and life. As the times require, digital cameras have opened a rich world of digital images. The birth of digital camera fundamentally changed the traditional photography technology and system, which not only affected and changed the business philosophy, business mode, management and service quality of the photography industry, but also led to the update of every photographer's creative concept and method. It can be said that digital photography is a remarkable revolution in the field of photography technology at the turn of the century. Digital photography has created new opportunities for the development of news photography, pictures and other kinds of photography. In the transition period of old and new technologies, whether we can respond quickly, cut in early and fully enjoy the creative fun provided by high technology to human beings is also a new topic for our photographers. ?
The birth of digital photography poses a severe challenge to traditional photography, forcing us to understand digital cameras from scratch. A digital camera is composed of countless zeros and 65438+ zeros arranged together in a computer or electronic device. Generally speaking, a digital camera is a camera that uses electronic components (usually CCD or CMOS) instead of film as photosensitive material, and digitally stores the images recorded by the objects it shoots in a memory card that can be reused many times. The optical part, mechanical part and imaging principle of a digital camera are almost the same as those of a traditional optical camera. Digital camera is based on the large-scale popularization of personal computer and microelectronics technology in today's society. Its emergence, application, processing and future development are closely related to the development of computer, microelectronics technology, electronic components, large-scale integrated circuits and other related industries. Digital camera solves the original problem of convenient, fast, efficient and successful photography, and the later things are handed over to the computer (also known as "electronic darkroom"). ?
Digital photos can't be realized without a computer or if you can't use it. Now the processed software can do anything. "Electronic darkroom" has the advantages of "omnipotence", such as adjusting contrast, changing colors, adding borders, adding backgrounds, modifying, reprocessing, splicing, making panoramic photos, grafting flowers, changing faces, artistic processing and so on. For professional journalists who have been engaged in traditional photography for a long time, they must accept the challenge of digital cameras. If they cling to traditional things and reject advanced technology, they will eventually be eliminated by history. It's not that we can't, it's that the world is changing too fast. ?
The emergence of digital cameras just meets the needs of news photography. It turns people's pursuit of 150 years into reality, and creates unlimited advantages for novelty, truthfulness, quickness, vividness, emotion and meaning of news photography. Not long ago, the author was lucky enough to attend the first advanced digital camera class in China, witnessed various novel digital cameras at home and abroad, and learned about the use of digital cameras by news media at home and abroad. He deeply felt that digital cameras had been used first by news media, and whoever used them early took the lead and gained a lot.
With the development of information society and the acceleration of people's life rhythm, people's concept of time is constantly enhanced and time is becoming more and more important. Digital photography meets people's demand for news fast food. Some people call digital photography information McDonald's, and journalists have become pioneers in using digital photography. Digital cameras have been widely used by major news media in China (but some small and medium-sized newspapers have not equipped journalists with such advanced equipment for various reasons). Make full use of digital as a quick and convenient means to serve readers and make themselves invincible in today's fierce competition in the newspaper industry. Wen Huang, a famous female reporter of Xinhua News Agency, told us with her own personal experience how she used digital cameras to overcome various difficulties and completed this important news report in the Kosovo war. Huang Wen said that in wartime, especially when Yugoslavia was subjected to economic sanctions by NATO, people who had no electricity, water or film to sell used traditional photography methods to take pictures, and the sensitivity of the film you shot could not meet the needs of news photography in wartime. However, she successfully solved the above problems by using digital camera, especially its sensitivity can be adjusted at will, so that she can successfully complete the photos of the bombing of our embassy in Yugoslavia. She said that in wartime, exposing yourself with a flash is fatal, but it is impossible for you to complete this task with a traditional camera, and you may even get yourself killed. Therefore, digital cameras have their special uses in special circumstances. Because Xinhua News Agency reporters have tasted the infinite sweetness of using digital cameras, Xinhua News Agency leaders said in public that photographers should be equipped with digital cameras even if they are poor. After our Xi Evening News realized computer office automation, social leaders took a step ahead and made a decisive decision, and bought six high-end digital cameras at one time. According to the feedback from Nikon's monopoly merchants, Xi Evening News is the unit that buys the highest-end digital camera at one time after Xinhua News Agency. After using digital cameras, our photographers fully enjoyed the convenience brought by high technology in photography, greatly reduced the labor intensity and won the interview time. They used to go out for interviews in the morning and come back in the afternoon to drill a darkroom. It takes hours to drill a darkroom. Day after day, year after year, photographers are physically and mentally exhausted, and their work enthusiasm is not high, especially when they are rushing to shoot and interview in other places. The transmission of news pictures is our biggest headache. I remember I attended the Far South and Pacific Games for the Disabled in Beijing on 1996. In the evening, I attended the opening ceremony to gain time for the manuscript to be published in the newspaper the next day. What should I do? I had to go to great lengths to find someone to take the film back to Xi 'an by plane that night, and then pick it up at the airport through the comrades in the photography department, and then make it after I came back to ensure that it could be published in the newspaper the next day. I won time, but I can't know whether the photos are good or bad. I can only help other comrades who are not on the scene to finalize the draft, and I can't fully express the intention of the on-site photojournalist. Another example is filming Ke Shouliang leaping over the Yellow River. It's about three or four hundred kilometers from Xi 'an to Hukou. The photographer arrived one day early and finished shooting on 10 the next morning. He hurried back at once and got home at 6-7 pm. In order to catch up with the time, he drives very fast. Aside from the danger, the quality of the photo can only be judged by feeling, and he has no idea. Unlike a digital camera, he can watch the LCD screen while shooting. These problems can be solved quickly with only one laptop and one phone after using digital technology. The transmission of pictures is the biggest advantage of digital cameras. Now our newspaper photographers love digital cameras, so they can take pictures at any time and handle them themselves, quickly and well. In the past, it was difficult for photographers to send it, mainly because the problem of picture transmission could not be solved. Now our photographers have much longer legs and dare to go all over the country. Because of the incomparable advantages of digital cameras, all the traditional cameras we used before have been put into storage, and no one wants to take the traditional old road and spend too much time just to take a photo.
Using a digital camera, photography is only half done, and the other half depends on an electronic darkroom. Therefore, mastering electronic darkroom technology is a compulsory course for everyone who uses digital cameras. Using computer to process digital photos is one of the biggest advances of digital cameras compared with traditional cameras. Computer graphics and image processing software represented by PHOTOSHOP has greatly expanded the ability of image calculation, processing and re-creation. All the techniques, techniques and effects of the traditional darkroom are just a piece of cake in PHOTOSHOP. If you want to adjust, remedy, process and synthesize your own digital photos, create all kinds of special effects, and re-create a new digital photo with a new perspective and new ideas, then you must spend time and energy to study hard. Frankly speaking, for some people who are quite familiar with computers, it is not easy to learn PHOTOSHOP, because powerful functions will inevitably make the software more complicated. When you see the excellent digital photos created by other colleagues on the computer, you must have a nameless impulse and a strong desire to master this technology, because the electronic darkroom is an indispensable part of digital cameras. ?
Digital cameras with powerful functions and superior performance have become the development trend of photography. Of course, it is not popular in China at present, and some news media have not seen its development advantages, and even called digital photography a monster. In fact, digital photography is also called cost-free photography, which is economical and convenient from any angle. Because the computer graphics and image processing software represented by PHOTOSHOP is applied in the digital photography electronic darkroom, the synthesized digital images can be processed at will, so some people question the authenticity of news photography. I don't think the problem of authenticity should be attributed to digital photography. It emphasizes the cultivation of photojournalists. The responsibility of a photojournalist determines that he is the representative of public opinion. He should be responsible to the society, follow the news laws, social ethics principles, laws and regulations, and report the news with a sincere and objective attitude. If our photojournalists abide by the ethics of photojournalists, then the authenticity of photojournalism will not be doubted because of the emergence of digital photography.
Modern society has entered the digital age. With the computerization of image processing, the development of satellite communication and color images, it will bring new prosperity and development to news photography. Especially in China, the application of digital cameras in news photography is still in the rising and developing period, and news photography will take a brand-new look and attitude, make full use of the powerful advantages of computers, and play a new unique and important role in the field of information dissemination.
