Guizhou Botanical Garden was founded in 1964 and rebuilt in 1978, 1983 and 1986 respectively. At present, there are more than 2500 species (including varieties and forms) such as ferns, gymnosperms and angiosperms. There are 190 families and 844 genera in the park.

Botanical Garden has become a scientific research unit specializing in plant introduction and domestication in Guizhou Province, a base rich in plant germplasm resources and an important base for popularizing plant scientific knowledge.
